In 2012, I can't tell you how dress-obsessed I have become for my work wardrobe - and casual wear too, for that matter. I mentioned few weeks ago that due to a very busy and stressful time in my work life right now, I'm looking for comfortable clothes that look more effort-ful than they actually are, and patterned dresses truly do the trick.
#1: Gray and black patterned Karen Kane sweater dress; burgundy polka-dot mesh hose; burgundy pumps; jeweled hummingbird pendant from Toronto.
#2: Patterned Donna Morgan midi dress; wide brown woven belt; cognac riding boots.
Easy as it gets!
Question about the dress in #2: Should I hem it slightly, just a couple inches? It's longer than I usually wear. It's a somewhat recent buy that I almost returned, dithered too long past the return period, and then promptly got 3 compliments on the dress the second that I walked into the office wearing it. All 3 coworkers said no, leave the hem alone, it looks great as is. But I'm still hesitant and maybe that's just because I'm not used to wearing dresses at this length. These boots are the flattest shoes that I'd wear with it, FWIW.
