Contemplating colour...

Black, grey, navy/jean, white, and cognac (to bookend hair) are the backbone colours of my wardrobe--but I realize that I need colour in my closet for it's happiness factor. Though red and cobalt blue are strongly represented, aubergine/purple is my winter signature colour, and yellow my summer signature colour. I would love to have more granny apple green, but it is very hard to find. Fall saw a flirtation with blush, but I don 't think I will be collecting more. What about you?

My neutrals are - Navy, White and Black.

I don't think I have signature colors! Although my wardrobe has lots of blues and oranges.

I really want some radiant purples and greens in my wardrobe. In soft tones .... Soft blue and yellow come to mind.

When I started getting interested in fashion about a year ago, I made a decision to stay away from black tops, since they are often unflattering next to the face. I also had had an abundance of black bottoms, which I was sick of. So, after having done without black for the better part of the year, I am itching to add it back in! I have already bought a pair of pants and a halter top in black.

So...for neutrals, I have to say black, navy, optical white, and cream (cream is for the cooler months).

Signature colors are...none. Right now I am enjoying trying out new colors in my wardrobe, so I don't have any signature colors. Still too new at this.

As for new colors to audition, I have been auditioning corals this year, which I love. I wanted to audition mint green, but I couldn't find anything, and since that is really a spring color for me (as opposed to summer), I will probably just have to hold off for a year. I would like to find some tops in mauve, but I haven't found anything that fits that I like.

I hope you can find more granny apple green. That color looks great on you! And it's so unique.

My neutral is black. My signature colour is cobalt. My wardrobe for summer is mostly black and white (more the former than the latter). I am colour shy, though, and I look dreadful in most yellows and greens, and I don't like true reds. I will likely stick with the blue/black/white palette into fall.

I feel more settled with my colors than I have in a while. Except for my penchant to add too many neutrals!

My neutrals are black, navy/denim, gray, and cream/white. I also add in dark brown and olive/khaki green! And taupe! My "color-colors" in the summer are cobalt, acid green, and shades of pink. In the winter they are cobalt, burgundy, and purple/eggplant.

Here are my thoughts on greens. Greens are very trend-driven and it can be super hard to find an exact shade you're looking for if it's not the green of the moment. One thing that has helped me so much is to identify a family of greens. I realized I love yellow-greens and started being open to trying various shades in that family. They all work pretty well for me. As opposed to blue-greens or kelly/emerald or forest greens.

If I'm conceptualizing apple green the way you are, it is a somewhat yellow green. So you might try other greens in that family and see if you're happy!

Black and blue are my go to neutrals.

Cobalt became my signature color when it started popping up in abundance.

I'm auditioning more white this summer. Still haven't found the right white top or topper for my IT frame.

Black, white & grey are my neutrals currently. I also like blue as a neutral though and try and add as much as possible to my wardrobe.

My signature colors again are blue, white & black with a dashing of red and bright pink.

I would like to wear a bit more of orange & green to office, and am also looking for a pair of red shorts.

Interesting! Like you I also need color to keep happy. I don't have overarching signature colors, though -- I love and wear many colors, primarily clean or bright shades, and tend to be drawn to certain subsets of those colors in any given season. Neutrals, however, I do keep constant. My signature neutral is white/cream in all shades. Taupe, grays and black are also staples, along with the occasional brown leather (but ONLY in leathers).

EDIT: Forgot to mention auditioning! I'm debating looking for a lavender or lilac shade that works for me. A tall order, it's one of my toughest shades.

I have actually gone the opposite way this season and tried to limit my colours to black, cream, grey, tan, navy/ink and denim. I am feeling happier with my wardrobe than I can ever remember. I bought two long-sleeved T's in citron and pale blue earlier in the season, but I am using them mostly as an under-layer, as I just don't feel as fab in them as when I am wearing neutrals.

My neutrals are denim, grey and white/cream. I've been slowly adding in some navy and black over the past year. My signature colors are cobalt, teal and eggplant. I don't really change my colors with the seasons, except for a little more black in the winter and white in the summer. Colors I've been auditioning are citron and blush. With citron, I think my one piece (a boxy jacket) is enough but I can see blush sticking around for awhile.

I love my neutrals (grey, white, navy, ink)and of course especially black. I love the cohesiveness of my wardrobe and I also enjoy the consistency of my wardrobe and my look. I'm in such a happy place that I have no desire to add any colour. I do have a couple of garments in green and cobalt blue which are fun every now and again:)

Colours that have a high happiness factor for me include:

black
white
heather grey
military green
chocolate brown
navy (but the right shade of navy)
red (but only in small doses)

With the exception of red, all of those colours are actually neutrals. Proper colours do not make me happy the way they make other women happy. Over the years I've collected colourful things because I thought I should, because other women wear them, but once I started keeping track of what I was wearing, I realized I just never reach for them. So one by one, I've got rid of them. Now I'm very careful before adding a non-neutral to my wardrobe.

I could do with some chocolate brown, though. I seem to be down to only a few items -- I don't think brown has been popular in the stores for a few years.

What are your neutrals?
I ground outfits a lot with black, grey or navy. But I also use brown, burgundy, and green (olive and pine).
What are your signature colours?
I don't think I have any, but people seem to buy me things in aqua.
What new colours are you/ will you be auditioning?
I'm trying out blush, and I'm on a search for sky blue and reddish earth tones.

Colors to audition: I'd love to find some shade of blue that I love, maybe leaning toward an aqua/turquoise.

My signature colors are lime green, hot pink, purple and turquoise.
I would like to add more ink blue, emerald green, cobalt blue and olive.

My neutrals: most all of them, light and dark. I'm moving more toward light neutrals but still like some black. The only one I don't like is deep deep black near my face.
Signature colors: none that I consider signature. From my closet, blush and tomato red are most prevalent.
Auditioning: I added an ink summer dress and cardi and would like to try more blues. For my travel capsule I added mint so will have that in the fall with cooler weather.
From the Pantone chart, I'm most interested in the blues and maybe cypress that looks like a deep olive.

i wear neutrals upon neutrals with neutrals. With more silver and ash blonde in my hair these days, I'm wearing less browns, though.

Fuchsia and orange are signature accent colors.

But thanks to YLF, I'm experimenting with a citron tunic and a citron print blouse with my black/grey/denim bottoms. Finding the tunic a challenge to style, though.

My not very scientific summary...

Black is the #1 neutral, just barely edging out white and navy/ or jean, and grey a very close fourth. (10-15 mentions)

Brown, olive, and taupe /tan are very far back. (2-4 mentions)

There is still a lot of love for cobalt, but red not so much. Some treat red almost as a neutral, and like it in small doses. A bright pink (fushia) is mentioned. Blush and citron has been welcomed into closets, while some are still considering, but haven't invested.

The 'right' blue, in the aqua range, along with mint green is on some peoples wish list, but remains elusive. Yellow is a challenge that intrigues a few. Lots of interest expressed in experimenting with green and/or chorals and oranges in the future.

My neutrals would have to be an assortment of brown tones, and definitely navy and ink blue. I have been using mostly navy as my go-to for neutral; and I use brown in terms of leather ... Dark grey is also very useful, and charcoal.

Signature colours would have to be jewel tones and more rich. I am really in love with navy and ink blue and all those blue tones at the moment. I do love myself a purple though!

New colours I have tried include reds and orange. I don't like orange one lick. I also don't like pastels. I have tried blush multiple times, and baby blue and these colours just don't play well with my skin tone!

My closet is organized by clothing type and color but your questions made me wonder what percentages by color only my wardrobe is. I just went in and reorganized by color only. I thought I had trimmed my wardrobe colors down to , black, white, blue, grey, and burgundy. As you can see I was wrong. The blues and blacks, pics #1 & #2, are about even. White follows, then burgundy and green. The green really surprises me. I think I want to reduce the blues and blacks are replace with more silver grey and pewter. Ah, a fall plan!

My neutrals:
Navy, Gray/Charcoal, Off White, Black (but I try to avoid black near my face).

My signature colors are jewel tones. I like bright, deep colors. Lots of deep purple, turquoise, cobalt, fuschia and sometimes emerald green.

New colors: I got an Everlane tee in Huckleberry. In person, it is a lot browner/more muted in person than I thought it would be and what I typically wear. I'm still not sure what I think about it. Shown here under the topper: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-you-think

The neutrals I wear the most are white, cream, grey, navy and black.
I wear a lot of colors, mostly brights and jewel tones. My signature colors are cobalt, fuschia, citron, turquoise, and orange.
I've recently added a few softer, muted colors like dusty blue, blush, and soft aqua and I find it's a nice change for me.

New colors: purple and lavender, also I am looking for things in dark spruce green.

I'm a cool winter...fair skin, green eyes, salt and pepper hair that used to be black.
