Considering this jacket. Too tough for me?

It's a moto jacket, but quilted knit instead of leather.

Now for the few who remember my pictures, because I don't post many of them, is this too tough and edgy for me? You know I don't have an ounce of edge in my "delicate" Snow White self. Do you think I could wear this with any authenticity? Does the lack of leather soften the look enough for me?

And a general question for anyone else! Can you wear a short jacket with longer tops, since most of mine are and I'm strictly no tuck?

I don't think this is too tough at all. It is moto inspired but very wearable, in my opinion. Moto seems to be very mainstream now and this just looks like a great moto inspired topper to me.

I wear short over long all the time. I like the look.

Ah, I think the softness and the quilting counteracts the toughness of the moto style. It's too bad it does not come in a beautiful jewel tone, as I think a plum or dark burgundy or teal would be beautiful on you. Reminds me a bit of the Burberry quilted jackets in fact.

I wear short over long sometimes, but I think the trick is to make the long quite a bit longer. A tunic length top would definitely work with this jacket. The trick is to make it look intentional, and I think it's harder to do that when your top is just a teeny bit longer than your jacket. But even that can be done well. For some reason I think it works better if the top is floaty, like a loose blouse, rather than a more fitted thing like a tee.

love this. i don't think it reads "tuff". are you thinking about the navy or the black?

I'm thinking black because I lean that way...it would go better with the rest of my wardrobe than navy would, even though navy would be a bit more flattering. It's just right now I can't see replacing all my black with navy.

But Diana, wow, that's a great idea. A burgundy one would be such a great choice. Maybe I should wait on this and see if something like that shows up somewhere.

The only way to know for sure is to try it! I agree with Diana that it would be ideal if it came in a plum or even berry colour...but it's worth giving a try anyway. You will soon know how it feels. And trying it in a soft fabrication (at a lower price point than leather) is a great way to experiment with the style.

Salivating over Diana's offerings. Those colours would look great on you, Peri! But you would look good in the navy or black, too. The black might feel a bit harsh -- hard to say.

Peri I love this moto for you. I think the knit softens it and the weight looks like it can be worn indoors if one wishes. Is it possible to order and try?

The jacket reads 'pretty' and not tough/edgy ... maybe you'd like Art School instead of Edgy?

Not tough at all - just a little bit edgy - which I think would work for you. And yes - short over long is very mainstream - the longer layer can be pretty much any length in my opinion - doesn't need to be tunic length!
