Hi Megan!
In determining body type, what's more important than the measurements around your body (the way you take measurements for tailoring) is your measurements across the front of your body.
What you want to know is, when someone is looking straight at you from the front, are your shoulders wider than your hips, narrower than your hips, or similar to your hips, and does your waist curve inward substantially or is it sort of straight up and down.
The easiest way to see this is to stand in your underwear or in snug-fitting garments like a cami and leggings and look straight at yourself from the front. If you're comfortable posting a photo, the ladies are good with identifying your type.
Hope this helps!
