Comparing Leather Motos - Two Angie's Picks and one SA's

It's time to compare and choose a leather moto! I've tried year after year to find the perfect one and I'm wondering if this might finally be the year. I have three contenders to compare. Two are Angie's picks and one was recommended by my SA. All are styled with the same jeans and cashmere T-shirt, along with the Paul Green Natasha loafers.

1, 2: Treasure & Bond (SA pick): You've seen this one before in an earlier post. It's the most comfortable to throw on because it's slightly oversized. It seems durable. Sleeves can easily be hemmed (or tucked under) because there's no zipper. Cons are that it's the least "refined" of the bunch (because it's a bit oversized and the so-so quality of the leather) and it might ben too similar to a T&B vest I picked up at NAS last year (photo 7).
3, 4: Tahari (Angie Pick): This one feels a bit long all over (body length, sleeve length) but I don't think I could size down. I'm not too crazy about the silver hw on the wine but the color overall is pretty. In my imagination, though, I always pictured a black (or even brown) first leather moto, so that would be a change in perspective.
5, 6: Ted Baker Lizia (Angie Pick): Love the details (floral lining, rose gold hw) and the leather. Looks very upscale. Sizing feels best of the three but it fits like a glove and even after sizing up it only just zips. I'll need to stick to lighter layers and use scarves for any extra warmth but I'm ok with that. Sleeves are good but the pockets are placed so far back as to render them basically unusable. If I go this route, I'll need reassurance that it looks like a good fall leather jacket and not more like a indoor jacket, though the weight certainly suggests it's fine for the elements.

Help! Any and all opinions welcome!

First, all three look fab on you. I was going to say the 2nd, the Tahari, as the color is softer but then read your comments. My choice would be the Ted Baker. Its quality even comes through on the photos. A leather jacket with these jeans and loafers is an awesome outfit. Choose a jacket with a high happiness factor that puts a spring in your steps.

I much prefer the Tahari and the Ted Baker on you. Like Joy, I would go with the Ted Baker if you prefer black to wine.

Well, I chose the Ted Baker just from the photos, and then I read your comments. If you feel more comfortable with one that you can wear over more layers, I'd go with #1, because it looks great, too. I just think 5-6 looks so luxe and refined, and a great fit on you. I would not go for the second one, given your hesitation about the color and the hardware. And I wouldn't worry about duplicating with your vest, because I think you'll wear the jacket for different purposes, won't you?

I think you need to be confident about the colour so would rule out the Tahari. I think the last one is gorgeous. I tend to wear leather jackets in spring and autumn or mild/indoor winter days. I think ideally you could layer a light merino or similar underneath but I would not worry about anything bulkier.

I do think they look best slightly too small when not done up:)

Love love love the Ted Baker.I don't think it matters that it only just zips if you intend to wear it open.

As styled, I like the Ted Baker. I personally returned the Tahari because I didn't love the silver hardware with the merlot color, T&B could work, but as you already have the best, I'd say go for the variation w the Ted Baker.

Dilemma! I personally love the color (and fit) of the Tahari, but it sounds like you aren't feeling the merlot.

Your choice seems to be between form and function.I have a bad history with jackets that aren't comfy fully zipped or have challenging pockets - they rarely get worn. The Ted looks great on you - better than the T&B (which still looks good, but less luxe and modern). So if you will still love Ted and wear it knowing it's function limitations, I say you look Fab in it.

Well I am the opposite to everyone else. I like the first one best and it doesn't matter it's similar to the vest- it makes your wardrobe cohesive. Sleeves on #2 are too long.

The Tahari looks nice with those shoes and is a very nice jacket. The sleeves are a little long. I don't know how hard that would be to alter. The Ted Baker looks beautiful on, but would you miss being able to use the pockets?

Based on the pictures Ted Baker is a winner- it looks refined. That said the Treasure and Bond gives a more casual feel, which I really like on you too. I'm no help because I'm going to say that there would be great uses for for both jackets in my wardrobe...

From the photos, my fave is the third, followed by the second. The first is my least favorite. Then I went back and reread your comments, so my opinion from the photos still prevails.

And I'm standing firm in NOT needing a black leather moto even though that's a gorgeous jacket!

I would want a jacket to zip. And I returned a jacket that didn't have pockets, so unusable pockets would annoy me, and probably be a dealbreaker. Are you sure those things don't bother you? If you're sure, and not just being swayed by sale prices, then the third one looks great.

From the photos, the Ted Baker, hands down. It looks amazing on you.

The first one is the most "traditional" looking, including the heavy looking fit, especially in the shoulders, which is interesting but might be more of a statement than is practical.

Even if the second was brown I would still have the same opinion of it as the first, the fit issues are only acceptable if you really want to commit to the moto jacket look.

The third is by far the best fit, the more streamlined version is the most flattering to you, it's clearly a "nice" jacket and the most transcendent of category of the three.

Treasure and Bond is ill-fitting.

Ted Baker fits best. Make sure you like how the layers work underneath.

Tahari is a good fit if you have the sleeves shortened.

I like the fit of the Ted Baker best too. The sleeves and shoulders end at the right spots here for you. Congrats on finding a new jacket!
