I will also be on stay-cation till 9/12 - have lots of vacation and am exhausted from concurrent job&internship this summer and my thyroid issues are flaring up, so could definitely use a break. I plan to use the time for serious apartment cleaning and de-cluttering, lots of rest and reading, lots of cooking of healthy lunch meals to freeze for when I go back to work. However, the biggest plan I have is a serious closet edit and wardrobe analysis & planning.
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I will be on a very small budget this fall and want to concentrate on wearing what I have and alter a some of current items, mostly bottoms. Here are the goals to achieve in the next 10 days, I would be happy if I get half way there. All the colors, trends etc. I decide to focus on would have to be done from shopping my own closet, not from buying bunch of new stuff.
1. A serious closet edit, including trying everything and clearing up massive holding zones.
2. A big analysis of clothes and shoes I wore this past summer and lessons learned.
3. I already defined my main three silhouettes for the season as pant type +shoe type, now I want to develop the three formulas for each (tops, toppers etc.) I said I will.
4. Define main colors/color combos I want to focus on
5. Define some of the general trendy style tendencies I want to focus on this season, such as dark romance and military. See what I have in each category, put together some outfits and catalog them for the fall.
6. Similarly, do the same for every more concrete trend I'd like to wear, for example velvet - pull out every single piece of velvet clothing I own, and if I keep it, build outfits and catalog
7. Figure out all the pant hackings and other alterations I want to do and bring those items to the tailor
8. Do all the jeans raw hem hacking myself ( I have ordered professional scissors, tailor's chalk and ruler and I will get them tomorrow).
9. Do all the maintenance such as dry cleaning, missing button sewing etc.
10. For fun, try to do at least 5 style icons you recommended for me.
11. Put together a bunch of fall capsules and catalog some outfits for the fall.
12. After all the exercises are complete, figure what would be the most logical items to purchase this season from my very limited budget that would serve to complete most of outfits. I am guessing 2 pairs of high shaft booties would be the first priority.
ETA: I forgot to say that I will be posting a lot as I go through all the exercises so feel free to ignore as many of my posts as you wish, there will be quite a few.
