1-2: Crocs flats, which remind me of a United Nude style I really liked. I had crocs way back when, but these are way cuter. Purchased with Shoebuy.com gift card won from doing one of their surveys - will probably only keep one, if any.

3 - Fidjis scored for a ridiculously low price on Amazon Warehouse Deals. Hoping they work as a lower priced alternative to Chie Mihara, which a cannot even seem to justify buying off Ebay.

4 - Burgundy ponyhair Docs! I unsubscribed to MyHabit emails long ago, but thought I'd check in on what was available, and the rest is history. I will most likely have to resell something (my 3" heeled burgundy boots that are yet unworn?) if these work out, but my Doc wedges are so comfy that it was worth a try.

Anyway, just a preview of what I'll be road testing in the days ahead in the hopes of nabbing a real retail workhorse. Currently my flats are either knee high boots or boat shoes (and the latter are about a 1/2 size too small after my feet swell up from that much standing).

Love #3 & #4.
Have you tried soaking your feet in warm water & epsom salts? It's an old fashioned remedy that works for me, it really takes the swelling down. How is it all going apart from the feet?

Yes 3 and 4 are fab looking. The Crocs are interesting and I suspect they will be comfy but how do they fit your personal style? Crocs have a bit of a reputation here in terms of who wears them...they are kind of "daggy". I know they now come in lots of different styles but I find it hard to get my head around them. Hope you have success with the new shoes.

I"m waiting for reviews. The crocs are cute, but I tend to sweat in them so had to donate my pair of similar ones. Fingers crossed for you.

I like the crocs - I don't think they look like the usual crocs and hopefully they will be comfortable for your feet. #3 is really cute but that heel might still be too much for standing all day. The docs are a great color and should keep your feet happy.

Love those burgundy Docs! Fab colour and hopefully super comfy too. I like the Fidjis a lot too. I'm afraid I have a poisoned eye and long standing hatred of Crocs so can't comment on those.

Well...I LOVE them all. I have a pair of Croc ballets which I love..but yours are soooo much cooler. I own the Fidjis in a really dark grey ( the ones I wore with you guys in OC . And of course the doc's are fab !!!

Hehe, I understand the long hatred of Crocs! I just can't deny the comfort factor. If they look halfway decent, I may just have to keep a pair in my locker for emergencies.

Isabel, is that really the style you had? I was thinking of you when I ordered these - standing up to Shoptoberfest is a good litmus test for a shoe.

Deborah, this is the shoe the Crocs made me think of. So... maybe not 100% the same or 100% my usual style - but then again my usual style does not really include ballet flats at all.

Well I may be biased since I just got some burgundy Docs too, but I really like them! I will warn you that mine at least definitely need to be broken in, so they may not be sales floor-ready immediately. I wore mine for the first time for about 2 hours this weekend to run errands (so on my feet the whole time) and that was about all I could handle. Mine are the classic stiff leather though, so I don't know about the haircalf finish.

I like the Fidjis too. Even the crocs are cute but I have the same issue that Jeanne has where they make my feet sweat and cause chafing.

My oxblood docs took me from 6 hours of cocktailing at the ski resort right into 5 more hours working the dinner rush at my pub job for a whole winter of double shifts. Nary a blister. Nor frozen toe (although I know that is not an LA concern hee hee).

I like them all but if it's comfort for a full day on your feet in retail you're seeking then you will not know until you experience it, meaning wear them all day at work. I find that different shoes can be uncomfortable for different reasons. In my earth shoe mary janes it was my back I think & maybe the arch. They didn't feel as cushioned as other shoes. My minnetonka fringe booties were good due to padding but narrow & caused corns. My Frye Veronica had great cushioning & felt the best of all but still caused corns, even though they are wide. I have bony toes that rub together in everything that isn't a sandal, except for my very square earth shoes & my custom made knee high moccasins but those have only a conveyor belt sole with sheepskin lining so my back would hurt if I wore those. I didn't have them at the time but I wore them walking a lot in NY, thinking that they would solve all my corn issues I get in walking cities. They did but the back problem. It is said that we were born to be barefoot but not on concrete sidewalks or granite or concrete floors.

Rae, do you wear Oxfords? I got the Born Arlettas that others on the forum have and wore them for 6 hours of walking straight out of the box with NO problems. They look great with jeans and skirts.
