Went to the local shopping centre yesterday to pick up a pizza stone for DH to cook with (he's magic at making pizzas and that's tonights dinner!) and I thought I would have a look at some of my fav stores. Surprisingly I picked up a few good items, I always love it when you find magic when you least expect it.

1. Black t-shirt maxi dress from Supre. I've been looking for either a dress or just maxi skirt to try, I was going to make one but I found this for $10 so if it doesnt work I'll chop the length off into a shorter dress. Super comfy fabric too.

2. Yellow top from Sportsgirl. This is a new season item, I fell in love with the color as soon as I saw it. The clogs in this picture are also newish, from Sportsgirl via EBay. Not quite sure if they go with the outfit though?

3. Khaki pants from Sportsgirl and Black top from Sussan. I liked the pants in the store but now they are home I'm not so sure. I've pinned in some of the volume on the left leg as I think they need a bit more of a streamlined look. I wanted a pant option that wasnt jeans, the fabric is lovely and soft too.

4 & 5. Military shirt from Valleygirl and khaki spotted scarf from Sussan. I really like this shirt, I am hoping it will be a good option with jeans when the weather cools. Also picked up this scarf, it's a huge scarf so I wasnt quite sure what to do with it so I just tied it into a triangle - what other some other options for wearing a scarf this big?

6. Lastly is a cream silk shirt from Gap via Ebay and cream bag from Sussan. I've been wanting a flowy cream shirt for the cooler weather, I'm wearing it with jeggings here hoping that the shirt has enough coverage so it's not too scandalous!

Any suggestions for styling options and feedback is greatly appreciated!

#1 and 2 are my fav; I think that the red shoes in #2 def go with the outfit and are my fav shoes out of all of them! I think the bright yellow colour really brings out your features; the long black dress looks so casually elegant, I wish that length looked good on me.

I was wondering - is that shelf from Ikea?

I think #6 is going to rate KILLER from Angie and others (me!). The shirt looks a bit sheer, nothing a cami can't fix. A bright turquoise or yellow bag would add another pop of color if you wanted it!

The yellow shirt looks too big in the sleeves, though it's a great color. I'm not sure of the fit on those pants. Are they very drapey? They could come off a bit like the chinos of the 80s, but if they flow well it may just be the photo.

LOVE #6! I'd put a cami under the top because of "see-through" issues though! Also, really like that shirt in 4 and 5 - very cute and the neckline is nice for a statement necklace. The khakis look like they are trying to be baggy chic, but not quite making it - I just can't explain what it is, but they just look off to me - maybe if you took in the legs they would work for you? I am just not a fan of the maxi length dresses, so I'm not a good one to comment on the dress! I think both pairs of shoes are really cute and work well with the outfits. Also, really like your hair! Thanks for posting!

Looks like a good haul to me. That yellow is just perfect on you. I think 6 is fantastic, and very flattering, but I also noticed the see-through issue. About the leggings, I think it really depends on the quality and thickness of the material. I usually wear leggings with dresses and pontes with tunics--slight difference in the material.

ETA: the fringe and short layers around your face are looking very good!

I like #1, 2 and #6. I like Maxi dresses and skirts! So I'm glad to see one. I just think they look so different.

I'm thinking you can do better with the non-jean pants. Non-jeans are hard to find these days. I wear jeans 90% of the time now, I have quite a wardrobe. I have found that, depending on the wash, each jean will give a different feel.

Your hair and skin look beautiful. I am in a state of envy!

I am most certainly going to look out for that top at Valley girl. Do you think it would work with a wider legged/flared denim? (That is the key look I'm wanting to try in winter!)

That shade of yellow really suits you as well and I adore everything about outfit #6!

The only item I am not too sure about are the olive/khaki pants, like some of the others have suggested, I do think that the cut is not quite as flattering on you as say, the fit of the trousers/jeans in #6.

Love that yellow top on you, great colour! Does it have to be tucked or can you wear it loose if you like? The cream tops are great and I really love your giant scarf.

I'm not sold on the pants and the maxi dress. I'm not anti-maxi, but I feel like this one doesn't do much for your figure. The pants just seem neither here nor there - not slim-cut, but not properly wide-legged either? I do like the olive/khaki on you though.

#6 is fabulous! my favorite of the lot. Both the yellow and the military top look great too... very versatile.
I'm not sold on the maxi dress... both the length and the sleeves are not working for me. Even the cut through the waist seems shapeless. Sorry... it just doesn't seem to do you justice.
The pants seem to big to me all over. Did you try a smaller size?

#6 is also my favorite if you add a cami under the tunic and if the leggings re a thick ponte knit. I agree with others in suggesting you pass on the maxi dress and khaki pants as they don't do justice to your lovely figure. The color of the gold top is wonderful on you, and, to me, the clogs look fine with the outfit. The tops in 3 and 4/5 look fine. You might try folding the points of the scarf toward the center and rolling or folding it into a strip to use like a long rectangular scarf. Thenyou can try the Angie knot, etc.

Look at you! You are quite the fashionista with all these trends -- maxi dress, semi-tuck, and that fab new haircut! I love all of it except the green pants -- love the color but not sold on the fit. It's worth it to keep looking for the perfect-fitting pair because I wear mine all. the. time.

Overall, great haul!!

Thanks for all the lovely feedback! The pants are going back I've decided, they're neither here nor there with the fit and at $40 I can spend it better on something else.

The maxi dress is way too long, I'm going to play around with it for a bit and I can always adjust it if necessary.

Everything looks great but i am the oddball and i love #3. #3 and #6 are my favorites! Maybe its because i am such a casual dresser but i love both of those looks/outfits!

Great haul! I really like the red shoes. If that scarf is a triangle, you can try different knots after folding the scarf into thirds, you take the scarf, lay it as a square. Then put the two pointy ends to each other, then fold one more time, now the scarf will be a lot thinner and able to fold into knots without all the bulk of the cowboy style knot you did here.

4,5,6 are my faves! The combinations are lovely with those fab red shoes. The yellow top is gorgeous on you too and I think the sandals go nicely with that casual ensemble!

Love the yellow shirt and outfit #6 is wonderful!! Glad you decided to take back the pants. I'm going against the crowd with the top in 4 & 5. I'm not a fan of the pocket placement on the chest, sorry. I did love the red shoes with the black and olive outfit, what a fun pop of color!
