Has anyone seen colored denim clams?

I tried some on at ATL today but they were skin tight and too long to roll to below the knee length. If I can't find them anywhere else I may get these and get them shortened.

Being in Australia (and in the colder seasons) I am no real help, but I find proper clam length pants really hard to find here. They are availble in 'older ladies' shops but everything else I have seen would need to be shortened.

If you find the color and fit you want it might be worth having them shortened?

Nowhere unfortunately. Did the ATL's fit ok otherwise? At least shortening them you can get them done to the exact length you want.

Your best bet is to buy cropped pants/jeans and hem to clam length.

HAH - I tried on those same cropped jeans at ATL yesterday with the same idea. I tried a 2 and couldn't even zip them up, and then I was running late and had to go without trying on other sizes (don't you hate when you're rushed, rushed, rushed shopping?).

Keep me posted - did they fit otherwise? They sure did come in fabulous colors. I may need to go back.

Sarah - The 2's and 4's fit the way they were supposed to but I don't want them to be skin tight. I sized up to an 8 to get them to be a little slouchy and not skin tight. I'm going to keep looking.

Huh, that's too bad. I bought a pair of white denim bermudas yesterday at ATL that fit well in a 2 - I was hoping those cropped jeans would fit the same way, so I could just cut them off and hem them. Darn.

I saw some at Dillards a couple of weeks ago. I'm pretty certain KUT had lots plus I saw other brands too in all kinds of pretty colors.

Are these clams? If so, MANGO sells them in pink, cream and navy. They looked really nice in the shop!

Last three are denim, also by MANGO.

I second Angie's suggestion. Capris can certainly be shortened to the correct clam digger length and a lot of the ones I see are already tapered.

I would say just buy the longer ones and chop them yourself. I never find clams in the right length anyway, so I always just chop longer jeans. Much better selection if you don't worry about length. If you want a rolled cuff, you don't even have to hem them - I just cut a little longer, then do a double roll, thus hiding the raw edges. Or of course you could hem them (or have a tailor do it) if you want a more refined look.
