color for a puffer jacket?

I'm looking for a puffer and Lands End is having a great sale right now. I love the look of this one:

Does color matter? The black looks sleek, but I always think of it getting dirty or not "going." My inclination is always gray.

ISW, how are you planning to use the puffer in your wardrobe? The one you linked to looks nice and warm, but two things come to mind. One is that it's sporty and gear-ish, which is fine if that's how you'll be wearing it, but not great if you'll be using it to replace a dressier coat on really cold days. The other is that it's a shorter jacket, which may not provide enough coverage in ultra-cold weather.

Agree with April - this looks very much like a gear jacket. If your intention is to wear it for gear though, go for a fun color! I like the coral!

Hmm, I didn't think gear at all. I thought "oh, it looks like a warm casual jacket." Maybe the brighter colors are more gear-ish?

The problem is that my warm winter coat is very gear-ish, I think. It's red and white and I feel like a snowboarding cardinal in it. It never quite works with what I have on, thus the black option appeal.
