Color Analysis Dilemma

Hello beautiful ladies! Thank you for helping me determine my style type awhile back. It has helped me immensely! I was color analyzed online a few years ago, and determined to be a Dark Winter in Sci Art. Another online analysis determined Dark Autumn. My cousin, who is an interior decorator and color enthusiast is convinced I am a True Winter. I can see all three having merit. I have been on hormones for 8 years and recently went off of them. To say they have changed my entire body soup to nuts is an understatement, lol. My skin is quite light, with a number of freckles etc that have recently developed, my eyes are a warm brown with a very distinct limbal ring, and my hair reads as black (I have A LOT of grey, it’s just not very visible because I have a ton of hair, like an animal, lol). Also, I don’t look good in lips that are too pink or too brown. I know an in person analysis is the answer, just not possible right now. You all have such keen eyes that any feedback would be appreciated. I will link some photos, makeup free and taken in natural light. Thank you so much!

The trouble with trying to do this by photos is that if the light isn’t exactly the same in each photo it can skew the results but I will have a go.Black doesn’t seem to do much for you but the dark green ,dark brown and hot pink look good .l know from being colour analysised myself they very much try and fit you into one category but some people straddle across categories and you might be one of those people.From what I’ve said you would be a dark autumn but that doesn’t mean some winter colours wouldn’t suit you very well.l personally wouldn’t get too hung up on it.l m a light spring but l still wear forbidden colours!

So I have a color analysis problem and have had so many, just for the fun of it!! Based on your photos, I like the cool, brighter colors - so some sort of winter could be my vote. I would suggest that an in-person analysis is not necessarily better than online; yes, you take the photo out of it, but it's still one person's opinion at the end of the day! My best analysis in my opinion was an online one FWIW, I think getting to my main season is was close enough ... No matter how granular I tried to go, they always say you need to customize it to yourself anyway ... Have fun exploring!!

Cardiff Girl-I totally agree where the lighting is concerned. I made it a point to take all the photos at the same time and in the same spot for the most part. I’m trying to use it as a means to help me focus on certain colors for a minimal and good looking wardrobe, but I also don’t intend to get too caught up in it as you suggest. Colour is so hard because of light and surroundings. THAT said, I *like* 3 and 11 best. You do have dark hair and are fair, but I don’t think that makes you a winter...

I'd go with Winter, flowing into Dark Autumn. Those jewel tones really make your skin glow, but the dark brown appears more flattering than the black.

I would go with Dark Autumn. This comes from my extremely narrow knowledge base. I am a classic winter, and I know what I can and can't get away with. I think you positively glow in the dark green. As I understand it, Dark Autumn is kind of a crossover season: almost winter, but can carry some warm tones.

Like Cardiff Girl said, you are probably a mix of seasons. Go with what you know looks good on you. In person experts can't even agree if I am warm or cool toned, let alone a season. Your eyes look warm but hair looks cool.
In general I like the darker colors on you better than brights like the blue and pink. What is your best red?

Number 8 for me. But at the end of the day, it's what made you feel most content/happy? That's the one you should go for.

If I had to pick one I'd say some sort of winter. Although your eyes are warm your skin looks on the cool side to me. The yellow doesn't look great which I think it would if you were an autumn. The blue and red on the other hand look amazing.

Do you not have a feel yourself for which colours make you glow?

Dark winter flowing true winter. That cobalt and hot pink especially are really good on you
My mother and i are dark winter and dark autumn respectively. We both can rock pine green, but that cobalt is so good on her and unwearable on me (sallow). My best DA colors are orange (every shade works) with purple/wine/burgundy. Golden glowy like lit from within

What, Laura?! Hahaha. I of course like the yellow best on Susan and find the blue and fuschia a tad overwhelming (but not unwearably so).

...Differing screens probably also don’t help.

Well, I think you should just wear either the pink or the chocolate everyday and call it done. While several colors look nice on you #4 and #8 are really stunning.

You glow in the dark autumn colors and your love of berries with (rich) brown supports that. We generally gravitate to our best colors and can borrow from adjacent palettes.

I agree with others that the lighting and our screens can throw things off, but keeping that in mind, I really like the dark brown, green and cranberry colors on you the best. At first I was thinking jewel tones, but I always go back to which colors make me notice the person, not the color. Gorgeous colors are everywhere. I want to see you.

Thank you Mainelady, I always assumed I couldn’t wear browns and greens, so it is a revelation that others see them as being good colors for me. It’s very exciting!

I'm late to this party, but #5 and #8 get my vote. Those colors are gorgeous on you.

All I can do is base it on what I see - I think some colors just look good on many people because they are just great colors (to me at least). Example, I can wear hot pink #4 (I'm blonde and green eyed and def. a warm color) and you can too. I find #1 too jarring on you and on myself. I also like #5, #7, #8 and #11 (but again I don't mind wearing those colors either). So...maybe I'm not of any real help. Or maybe you are a warm winter or a mix? I think as long as a color is picked up in your hair, eyes, skin tone, etc. it usually can work. The other time a color seems to work well is when it's a complement.

Some people love yellow, I'm not a fan of bold yellows in general but I love gold jewelry and golden cognac colors.

Okay, I'll play--even though I don't know the categories you are referring to. The colors that seem to me most flattering to you are those in 5, 6, 8, and 11. I was surprised to see how 7 kind of dulled your complexion, in comparison to 6.

I like you more in the warmer shades but you certainly can wear the other shades as well! I thought the very dark brown was particularly lovely.

I would also point out that this shade of bittersweet brown is fairly cool, as browns go. I wonder if warmer shades would look as well, so if I were you I would look for dark autumn colors that are ever so slightly leaned to the cool side.

Wow this is hard!

It may sound funny but I think your hair color is kind of an outlier. Your face and eyes are a bit warmer and softer. So I think rich colors but not super strong dark clear colors. I’d try some slightly more “ medium “ tones of the berries , browns and greens. Have you tried some sha des of teal?

FWIW, to my eye, no 4, 6 and 8 look fantastic on you.
Less fond of no 3, no 7 and no 9.
Good colours, but not outstanding are no 2 and no 11.
Not sure about no 1, on the fence here.
I have no idea about the seasons though....
