Una, that coat was gray in the default picture but I would have gone for purple. Anyway, the decision has been made. I will call tomorrow and see if they can hang on to it for me until Friday. Keep those fingers crossed!

I had to peek in and add that you probably get an extra button with the coat, right? You could have a tailor move the original button on the belt, plus add a second one to address the adjustment need (I think you said you wanted to be able to loosen it up if you have layers underneath).

No one is answering the phone!!! I am LIVID. I have called at least 5 times, and let the phone ring repeatedly. What kind of store doesn't have someone manning the phone? The operator's excuse was that the store "just opened." It opened half an hour ago!

It is a madhouse. I do not enjoy going there and admit that if they did sell my coat--while I would be beside myself with disappointment--I would also be relieved that I don't have to set foot in there again (this week anyway).

Lord & Taylor carries S&K. Maybe they have it. Much smaller store, much more tolerable experience...

So I love the black and white coat. But on you? The red. Absopositivelylutely.

I'm literally sitting here on YLF and calling in 15 minute intervals. Still no response...

I'm not holding out much hope. Somehow I imagine the phone being stuffed in a shoebox and buried under the floor so no one has to deal with fussy old ladies like me.

Since they do not sell S&K on their website, and not all stores carry them, I will probably miss out if I don't get this one. The only other place that I could find that sells it is the S&K website, but I can't afford it full price (and $19 for shipping!).

If that's the case, I'll have to mull over whether or not I go for the tweed one instead...

Yes, and you can tell them they can re-rack the black and white tweed one (I had them both held). If they're stubborn, tell them I will be there at around 9:30-10:00 in the morning to pick it up, and I fully intend to buy it. I am just not in the city today so I can't come.

Formal update to Maya and Readership from an actual computer:

Ok, so it turns out they could not find your hold anywhere. They believe this new guy reracked the coats by mistake.... NO KIDDING!

Anyhow, since I had to turn around, I left both the XS and the S on hold until tomorrow. The lady at the register promised me she will personally make sure the coats stay there until you pick them up.

The S has no tags. That's another reason why I left them both on hold.

The hold is under "Maya". They asked for a phone number, I gave my cell. PM me if you need it tomorrow. I"m glued to my phone so I won't miss it.

Grrrrr that makes me mad. They told me they would hold it for 24 hours. I was there at 7:00pm, ergo the coat should have still been on hold. Thank goodness no one stole it from me!

It is definitely my coat too, because the one I tried yesterday did not have a tag.
