coat love color question

I am going on a trip soon and love the idea of a "packable puffer" as it will be cold for the plane ride, but warm (hopefully!) at my destination. Sensible me says get this coat in grey (actually, sensible me says "you don't need another coat at all", lol) but oh how I love the coat in olive! Plus, olive looks good on me.
So, my questions are...
Do you match your coat to whatever you're wearing?
What colors go with/do NOT go with olive?

I love grey, but I've got to say, I really like that coat in olive. If the color looks good on you, and it's calling your name, I think you should go for the olive. It's very close to a neutral in my book, so I think you could wear it with pretty much anything.

I agree with Janet. That coat is striking in the olive and it should work with many colors. I particularly like it with black, winter white and red.

I can't say I love the colors it comes in, but I got the grey which actally looks more like silver. We just went to the third coast (Gulf Coast) where we wore shorts and sandals everyday. But it was really freezing on the plane, plus it was in the 30s when we got home, so I was happy to have this jacket along.

I love both colours and can vouch for a packable lightweight puffer. I have a short one in grey and have worn it more than I could have imagined. I think you should go with what you love. Olive can certainly act as a neutral but you might be a tad more limited with accent colours than you would with the grey. nHowever, reds, creme, black, etc would be fantastic

I do tend to match coat to outfit, often tying the colors in with a patterned scarf. That said, I'm not super strict about it, and I wouldn't be with a 3/4 length coat like this. Blue and olive go well together so if you are wearing blue jeans with the coat, you're golden. However if you have a lot of colored jeans, then that may present more of a challenge.

Overall yes olive is a neutral. If you have an army jacket consider how you wear it. I love olive with navy, cream, white, brown, gold, black, cobalt. I hesitate to wear it with any shade of red including burgundy... it's too close to Christmas theme for me. Gray is also a challenge though taupe works.

What color bag would you wear with the coat? That may be even bigger determination. And do you wear a lot of gold instead of silver? Because olive seems to go best with gold, but that may just be me.

Love the olive, I wear a lot of it, and the only color I am not crazy about with it is orange, always feel like the great pumpkin! Other than that, it plays nicely with all the colors of my wardrobe.
