Coat - Looking for ideas

So, after returning my coat and the store being unable to have any for me to try on, I decided to check Nordstrom's. At least I can return for free if they don't work.

Really liked this one, but hubbs would have me checked into an asylum for spending this much on a coat. On the plus side, I bet it would be really warm!

The coat looks horrific on that zappos picture but it fits really nice. It runs at least two sizes larger.

I almost got sized out of it, I bought a size 2. I have never been a size 2, ok, maybe back in utero. That's how big these run. Just an FYI.

Oh, I love the first one! But it looks like it may be high maintenance. I also like the last one and it reminds me of what I currently wear. It's simple and feminine, but I don't think it's too young looking at all.

I really love the look of the coat in that last link you provided...and no, I don't think it's too "young looking" or anything of the kind. As Henley suggested, it's simple and feminine - and (imo) probably has a high longevity factor.

Meanwhile, I also think that two coats in the links that Zapotee provided are quite similar, and you might want to investigate those (I think they look fab too!). That said, as far as I know, if you order from 6pm, you have around 30 days to return if need be (caution here though - their 30-day return policy starts from the date of the order, not the date you received the parcel...so yeah, you'd have to rush it back on over to UPS or what have you ASAP if the size/shape/style didn't work out).

I really like the style and shape of that last coat you mentioned in your post AND the ones that Zapotee found on 6pm. I don't think you could go wrong with this shape/style.

The first coat you linked to is gorgeous but would be an investment piece. The second one would be light weight, but, unless you have narrow shoulders, that extra wide collar could be difficult. Alpaca is really warm and soft but this may not be warm enough. The third one doesn't look too young. I'd wear that coat if it were long enough to come to my knees and I'm a lot older than you are. I like the blue Nicole Miller coat that Zap linked to also, although it looks too big for the model.

I ordered 3. I kept going back to it and going back to it. Nordstrom's has a generous return policy, so if it doesn't work, I know they will take it back.

If it doesn't work, I will try the 6.pm coat. Just nervous to order from them as I may or may not need a different size, and return shipping get pricey. Nordstrom and zappos have spoiled me!

I am sure you will be very happy with that coat! It is lovely. I actually liked number 2 also, and it has alpaca - so soft and warm!
