Devin,

I am waiting to see more of your fun shoe collection!!(heels of course):)

Just to be clear, I didn't size UP. I got my regular CM size. I could also fit fine into a smaller size, but they looked a bit too tight for this type of pant. I thought they were maybe a tad roomier than their wool pants, but it might be the material.

I have never shopped at Club Monaco before and usually waver between an 8 and 10 in pants depending on cut. Like Marianne, I was able to comfortably fit into the smaller size, but it just looked too snug through the hips and behind in an 8. The 10 was looser overall (fitted but not tight through the hip) so that is the size that I bought. However, I am wondering whether they may be too big through the thigh. Also, I need to get the waistband tailored - the waist tab does not stay in place when I pull it in.

Kari, you could fold the tab end back under the buckle to make it tighter. Or you could also pull it to your desired position and sew it down by hand. Just a thought!

Thanks for clarifying Marianne. I misunderstood. Kari, I think the pants look good on you from the pictures you have posted.

Maya, I'm probably too late to help with this (drat this stupid time difference!), and it sounds as though you have decided against these trousers, anyway. I just wanted to echo Marianne- like her, I did not have to size up, per se. I've always been between a 0 and a 2 in CM- a 2 if the item is trousers or something fitted over my thighs, and a 0 if it's something fitted at the waist, like a full or A-line skirt. Me ending up with the 2 in these trousers was completely normal for me.

Now, I've never met you in person, but from seeing your photos, I swear that there is NO WAY you would be a 6 in these trousers. I always had the impression you were the same size as me (though with slimmer thighs), so my guess would be the 2 for you, as well. Maybe the 4 because I know you've said you have issues with your (invisible, to me) stomach, but it would only be between those two. Not much help if you've decided not to go for them, but I wanted to chime in, anyway.

BTW, Devin- you look great in those!

Marianne, I've considered basting the waist-tabs to the position that I want them in. However, I think the reason that they don't stay put is that I actually need the pants taken in from the center back of the waistband, and the tabs are farther out towards my hips. It fits fine when I pull the tabs in, but when I leave them slightly farther out and pin the small of the back instead, the fabric seems to pull less through the hips when I sit or walk. (Oh, I sound way too picky!)

Given the really low price I was really tempted today to call & order a second pair to hem for flats since my others are tailored for heels, but I decided that would be silly.

Groan. Now that I've heard everyone's sizes and seen how they look in them, I have a sinking feeling they're just not going to look so swell on my very ample lower body given my height. Brianna and Tam wear 10s and they are good 7 inches taller than me. Oh well, nothing to do till they arrive and I can try them on I guess. Too bad as I've always wanted a pair of funky checked pants but all the lower rises out there never cut it for me and they all made my bum look the size of Brazil.

Actually Ele, that was very helpful. I usually wear a 4/27 in pants so I thought if CM runs small, I would be a 6. But then Angie said San might be a 2, and if I'm not mistaken, I think she also wears a 4/27, so I just got a bit confused. Really the only time I ever wear a 6 is at H&M, so I was assuming CM ran as small as H&M, which I guess is not the case.

I really do want to try the pants but I would rather try them on in person than order them. I normally do not have a problem ordering, but it is usually from stores where my size is pretty consistent. I'm going back to NY tomorrow so I'm going to try a different store and maybe I will have better luck there!

Niva, shhh! You are going to look fabulous. Devin has quite a curvy little bod and she looks great, and you will too.

The manager at the Houston store told me that she herself sized up because she has muscular thighs. (She also said she had just had a phone order for these pants from Florida! HaHa!)
If I am not mistaken Angie usually wears a 26. Is that right Angie? I wear a 27/4 in COH jeans and they are plenty snug on me. So the 4's should fit me in the CM pants. We'll see in a couple of days if this is true.
They are sending me the 4 and the 6 because the sales gal had to size up herself, and just in case I do. She found a 6 in SoHo to send to me. I'm not sure where that is but if you need a 6 and you live near SoHo, they have them!

I believe Angie wears a 25, actually.

Well, I will be checking out the Soho store tomorrow. Hopefully they will have 2's and 4's as well!

I'm glad I helped, Maya. When I was at the Soho store they had loads of 4's (obviously that was a couple of weeks ago now), and some 2's in the stockroom. If you like the pants and they don't have your size, though, don't take no for an answer! Just have someone call around and find a pair for you- there must be one in your size somewhere in Manhattan, and if you're going into the city you shouldn't leave any stone unturned. I will have my fingers crossed for you;)

hehe, well now that I know how good they are at ordering stuff, I am pretty confident I'll find something that fits. I wasn't able to get to the city before, so I went to a different CM in this ultra swanky mall nearby, but the smallest size they had was an 8, and I hadn't thought of ordering at the time.

Ha, this is so fun! I wonder if the CM downtown will have any $29 pants when I go down to look for a dress to wear to my baby's baptism with my sister.

Wow a lot has happened on this thread!! Niva if the 10s don't work for you, I would love to unburden you of them!

FWIW I found the fit true to size though; the 8s fit but were too tight in my tummy problem area, whereas the 10s were very comfy. Everywhere else in the US 10s seemed just right, except H+M and Express where 12s worked better for me.

Angie wears a size 25 or zero. Good to know I'm not the only one that thinks these run true to size.

This has all worked out well, and it seems as though all of us YLF gals will have a pair of these fab CM pants! Mine are at the tailors as we speak. I can not wait to pick them up and wear them. I will be wearing mine with heels or wedges, of course...lol! I hope everyone gets the sizes they need and that they fit well.

Maya, thanks, I have my fingers crossed Did you get a chance to try these on when you were in NYC today?

Tam, as soon as they arrive I promise I will post an update.

Niva, I'm afraid I didn't even bother trying. I realized yesterday after getting my hair cut that my spending was getting way out of line. I was being a little more generous than usual lately because I thought I had nailed a job, but now I'm not as certain anymore. I'll probably have to return the white BR skirt I got and reinstate my shopping ban, which means no MC pants and no UO shirt dress...both of which are things I have wanted for a long time

San, if the size 6s don't work for you, and they aren't already spoken for (this thread is long and I tried to read all of it, but I may have missed something), I would buy them off of you, and pay shipping of course.

Oh Maya, I'm so sorry. I wish you didn't have to return the pencil skirt. But finances first, so here's hoping you get confirmation about that job, SOON. That kind of peace of mind is unparalleled. I'll say a little prayer for you

BTW totally glossed over the haircut. Did you try something new or is it the same?

hehe, hearing everyone go nuts about these pants is almost making me call up & order them! But I need more pants like I need a hole in the head. So far, they seem to look awesome on everyone! Niva, I'm sure they will look fantastic on you too. Tam, I hope you are able to get a pair too. If I lived near a store, I would have been happy to grab them & send them to you.

Niva, it's the same, but I hadn't cut it since March so it feels like a completely different haircut. I couldn't stand it when it started getting longer!

Well the good news is that if the job comes through I can justify both the pants and the skirt as work wear, so here's hoping.

Ana, sure I will reserve the 6's for you if they do not work for me. I'll post here when I get them.
If you do not want to wait that long you might try calling the store and see if they can still be ordered from a SoHo store. The phone number is 1-713-961-0010. I think they are called Ursula. I'd have to check back to the beginning when Devin started this post to make sure of the name. See what you have started Devin, a big run on Ursula pants!

We're creating a whole new sisterhood of the travelling pants.

Hahah these CM pants are going to take over the world!!!

LOL, San I really did start something huh?! I didn't know the pants were in such high demand. I am happy though that quite a few of you all were able to order at such a great price.

Angie, that's exactly what this seems like, and that's funny you said that, because I just watched part 2 of the movie a couple of nights ago.

Maybe we need to start a "create an outfit around your CM microcheck pants challenge!"
