Thanks, everyone! I think maybe you are right, that this would have to go in the fantasy-life capsule. I would have to stalk them for a long, long time (to around $100)...and maybe it's just not worth it. One thing that I just realized is that since they are such an open shoe, it will be difficult to use any kind of insole with them. So that will be a big problem, as that's what I always use with any kind of heel that poses difficulty.
Sometimes I wonder if shoe makers do this kind of thing on purpose, make beautiful shoes with really high heels so you get sucked in and buy them but can't wear them. That means that you have to buy another pair that is more wearable...and therefore you have to spend more money!
Ummlila, thank you for giving me your experience with CM shoes. I saw that these were made in Italy, and the Italians generally know how to make a good shoe. :^) I have some Aquatalia boots that were made in Italy, and the construction is very sturdy, and the leather is very soft and flexible, just like you said.
