Clown feet in sneakers?

So while packing up my clothes today, I found a pair of Le Coq Sportif sneakers in my closet. I bought them last summer in Rome when we had to do a lot of walking and ballet flats weren't doing the trick.

I stopped wearing them soon after that, because I remember seeing a picture of myself in them and I felt like they looked too long on my feet - kind of like clown shoes! Hubby says they don't, but I would love to know what you think.

I think you are being too sensitive. Hey! my feet look big in the dansko clog/tennies and I still love them. Your shoes have a cute funky vibe. Give them some love!

I don't think these look too big, certainly not "clown feet"! Its looks cute and funky
If you want to talk about big feet-I'm 5'1 and my feet are size 7 which is totally not in proportion to my height but what you gonna do"picture my shrugging my shoulders"...

I think the white tips extending kind of far back on the shoe is what is making you feel like they look large. As far as styling, to me they don't look whimsical enough for your style. I think you need something more colorful and spunky!

You could always 'shear off' a bit of the length with bootcut jeans and see if your eye prefers that. I personally find them cute!

I think they look fine, but have you tried wearing the shoes with pants that are slightly wider at the bottom like straight-legs or narrowish bootcuts instead of skinnies? They would cover up part of the shoe so cut the long line to the instep.

It's like an Italian Converse!
I always feel that way with skinny jeans and Cons. But with bootcuts, Cons are perfect.

Wear them for a bit and maybe put a new colorful sneaker on a summer wish list?

They don't look clownish at all. Nor too big. But they do bring attention to your feet, that's the style! They're supposed to do that.

If you don't feel comfortable in them, though, don't force yourself to wear them. Some styles must be tried out in order to know if they are us or not. If they are in good enough shape, you could try to sell them at a second hand shop?

Thanks for listening ladies! I actually don't own a pair of bootcuts yet and I really do feel a little clownish pairing these with skinnies. I'm going to try incorporating these into my outfits, but I will definitely be on the lookout for a colourful or patterned pair of sneakers that is more 'me'.

Are they the right size (ie not much longer than your actual foot)? Had you not mentioned anything, I might not have noticed, but looking at them now, they do look rather long....

I understand because I really wondered the first time I put Cons on my feet. I have narrow feet and thought they would just make my feet look all kinds of ridiculous. But my eye has adjusted and I don't think they make my feet look any bigger now.

However, I do think that these kind of shoes look better with straight legs than with skinnies, as others have pointed out.

So it's something about that particular shoe that seems to elongate it to the eye...I agree with Aida about the white tip probably visually extending it. It's not a big deal.

I do see where you are coming from a little bit. This is actually one reason I don't like the look of cons with skinny pants, especially on me. I feel like they make my (narrowish, very flat) feet look very long, skinny, and flat. For some reason my Simple sneakers do not do this, I think because they have a thicker sole and a less pronounced white toe tip.

I do agree that a wider leg opening on the pants will fix the problem!

Diana: I already have feet that are flatter than most, so I think that is what makes these look so long! I'll look out for a better sneaker style for my feet! Till then, I always have my oxfords

Sorry, but I do see a bit of the clown-footishness of which you speak. I keep trying to talk myself into Cons, but I suffer from the same clown-foot-itis. You know, I think it's really okay sometimes if our eyes do not "adjust" - it just means we have different opinions, different aesthetics.
