Closet shelf bins

For my insurance claim, it would be helpful to know the dimensions of the bins in which I had things stored. They don’t seem to be made any more. They were by ClosetMaid, and were as wide as the standard wire shelf that has a hanging rod underneath. They were 6-10” high and a yard long, give or take a foot. They had lids. I probably bought them ten years ago. US readers, do you or anyone you know have these?
Can anyone help me get the correct measurements of these bins?

Oh my -- I don't have those bins, FI, but I missed the fact that you've had what sounds like a major loss. So sorry to hear that. Target carries a lot of ClosetMaid -- were they plastic or fabric?

April, thank you! It was such a gut punch! They were plastic bins. I’ve browsed Target and ClosetMaid’s sites, and called Lowe’s (can’t access their site from here). It seems these bins aren’t made any more. Too bad, not just for me, but because they were clever. But mostly too bad for me, haha.

From what I can see, ClosetMaid seems to have gone over to more fabric-style bins. Darn - it's hard when an item you rely on gets discontinued.

I am also sorry to hear about your loss. I would recommend reaching out to closet maid customer service. They should be able to provide that info on their out of stock items. Good luck!

I have something by RubberMaid that might be at least similar to your bin. It was marketed as an under bed storage bin and is approximately (in inches) 31 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches and 6 inches tall. Cover size is 33 3/4 x 16 1/2. Not sure if that helps.

ZoeyGirl, the commiseration is appreciated! They stole my things, including photo albums, but they did not touch us—we were far away and my son is no less healthy than before.

April, fabric is nicer than plastic in every way except telling the insurance company what I had, darn it!

I think you have the width and an estimate of the height. Seems reasonable to provide insurance an estimate of the dimensions. Surely they don’t expect you to know exact dimensions. You have done your due diligence, so I would just wing it.

Elpgal, I think you’re right. I’m about done writing the list. One other way YLF has helped is that I’ve used outfit pix in front of a bookcase in compiling the list of Knick-knacks.
