I had planned to wait until the weekend, but I am headed to a large urban shopping center on Saturday and have a couple of newly identified wardrobe holes to fill. There is still a drawer of swimwear and undergarments to go through, and some things to return to their homes elsewhere.
I keep all my shoes, work pants, smart jeans, blouses, dresses, lounging hoodies and jackets in this smallish walk in closet which is shared with my darling Husband. The large chest of drawers in the closet was mostly in use for special occasion underwear, swimwear and a large collection of t-shirts and junky clothes that I kept for outdoor work. I've since pared down the t-shirts/junk and don't think I need the dresser anymore, which is awesome. To the basement it goes! I also keep everyday underwear, sleepwear, sweaters and casual tops in a dresser in the main bedroom
Notable things I found when cleaning out bins/purses include:
-About 8 measuring tapes, which probably say something disturbing about my body image
-One delightfully inaccurate measuring tape which reports that I have a 24" waist (kept!)
-A lot of shoe care products, insoles and polish and cushions
-About 1,000 bobby pins and hair ties
-Several earrings I thought I'd lost
-Two free coffees worth of coffee shop loyalty cards
-A hell of a lot of change, which I will be taking to the bank and using for my Saturday shopping extravaganza
-Library cards from places I lived in the 90s
-Chinese and American cash
