Earlier, I posted about the psychological edits that I need to make; now here's the nitty gritty of the actual stuff! I edit frequently, and recently ditched a few things that I had worn in ages and/or wasn't feeling at all (especially shoes, so only one pair of shoes was harmed in the making of this particular edit), so this go round had more 'holding zone' items than true edits.

I approached this edit with my style words in mind, which are: classic, polished, casual, contrast, and Kate (i.e. Middleton, my style muse despite our rather different lifestyles!). I realized recently that I was really falling down on 'contrast', so this is a current focus - contrast can be within the outfit (e.g. ink and white), against my personal coloring (i.e. a column of dark against my pale skin), or created with color (i.e. a strong color like a jewel or stained-glass tone).

#1 - the Edit Pile. The mustard shoes were fun but I don't wear mustard. The soft blue scarf I never wear. The blue shirt dress sadly decided to shrink in the last wash and is too short. The gray and white striped top has too wide a neck and my bra strap shows. The tops shown I loved the look of and so compromised on fit and it's time to admit that error and move on. The shorts I'm just over. The dress and striped top (which is sleeveless) are items to consider replacing next spring!
#2 - the Probation Pile. These are items that tick the appropriate boxes, but that I just never get to. They've got 3 months to prove their worth; then off they go!
#3 - the Confusing Pile. These are items I feel like I like but when I wear them, something bugs me about them and I'm not sure what it is. They've got 3 months, I think. I've got enough clothes and enough confusion without adding to the issue!
#4 - the Gray Pile. All items in good nick but I'm over gray at the moment. These are in the holding zone to 'shop' in case I have a sudden desire to wear gray.
#5 - the Soft Colors Pile. Similar to the gray pile. I've been doing a softer palette for a while now and I'm fed up with it (as per contrast comments in intro). Holding zone for emergency color palette change shopping lol.
#6 - #8 - What's left. Hats, bags not in rotation, and two thicker sweaters. Short sleeve t bin and shorts bin. All the rest hanging up (the hangers are bugging me in this photo! It's because I hang my sweaters over the top so they don't balance quite evenly).

Feeling please with this, and enjoying everyone else's edits!
