closed casual shoes for men?

Ok, so I am looking for casual shoes for my husband to wear in an ultra casual setting...like with khaki shorts and polo shirts. He has a preppy style. I want them to be closed shoes, but not have that frumpy look and also for them to not be sporty looking. They also have to be very comfy because he is definitely very picky with that!

He wears a size 14, which is a hard shoe size to find in stores. An online store where I can buy these for him would be great! Any help in my hunt for comfy shoes for hubby would be much, much appreciated!!!! I have no idea where to look next!

Have you searched "casual shoes" in his size on zappos.com ? That will give you an idea of what types of shoes are available, and they carry a wide range of sizes. Shipping and returns are free, so if he tries it and it doesn't work, you're out nothing.

Thanks for the suggestion, Becky! I went to check Zappos and I am amazed at how much you can narrow your search. I didn't know I could do that! Thanks for shining the light for me there. I usually know what brand I want so I just search for my shoes that way.

Ok, so what do you guys think of loafers worn with khaki shorts? Is that frumpy looking? I see older guys with it, but is the look acceptable for a 27 year old? Sorry for the silly question, but I really am not sure about the look! Maybe my eye needs to adjust?

I guess my question should have been, what type of men shoes look better with khaki shorts?and what favorite comfort brands do you guys buy for your husbands? I am just trying to narrow my options now, and I'm thrilled that size 14 is not that hard to find online.

I don't know how many of them carry men's shoes, but you might give them a try as well. Not all of them have free shipping, though, so be sure to check on that.

I'm not sure what to say about types of shoes for men. I am still learning, for sure, and I'll just wait for the more experienced gals to weigh in.

Here a few suggestions. (My husband, aka Mr. Shoe Freak also has big feet, and finding shoes that big that don't look clunky with shorts can be difficult.)

My husband has a pair similar to the first ones. He wears them with pants and shorts. Even though they are technically a sneaker, they are not "sporty". They're what Angie refers to as "fashion sneakers"

Thank you for the websites, Becky! I have never heard of some of these, so now I have more places to hunt.

Nicole, that is so funny you call your hubby Mr. Shoe Freak...I could use that nickname for my husband as his feet are pickier than mine. I do have the hardest time finding comfy shoes that are not clunky looking in his size 14! We both have given up shoe shopping in stores because the styles he loves are never in his size. BTW, I loved the Converse and Tommy Bahama loafer suggestions, but they don't carry them in his size. *sigh*

I always wanted to get him Converse shoes (as I own and love them) but can't seem to find them in his size. I guess I'm now looking for loafers that are sleek looking ...so my hunt continues. I will give all of these websites a look! Thanks again ladies for the help!

Don't give up on the sizes, Meuquita. Search using google, with the brand, style and size. They may be available from other sources in size 14.
