cleaning jewelry ultrasonically?!

A blogger that I follow just posted about the ultrasonic jewelry cleaner that he got for his wife for xmas. Apparently it's awesome, and so I thought you ladies might want to know about it!

I have one of these! I got it for Christmas a few years ago, they had them in a local supermarket. It really works! You just add water, a bit of washing-up liquid and the jewelry. It takes about ten minutes and then you have squeaky clean pieces. You just have to take care what jewelry you put in there, you can't use it on different gemstones and so on. I clean all my silver jewelry with it every six months.

These are pretty good, and I've had one for years, but the better thing is to boil your diamond jewelry on the stove. Water, a little liquid laundry detergent, and you are set. It sounds insane, I know!! This advice straight from my husband's cousin who is a jeweler.

My dad used one of these, gosh, 30 years ago? It was pretty cool to me then I made the mistake of using the tarnish type liquid stuff on gray pearls once Now I just use a cloth.

It sounds neat...I just have my engagement/wedding ring set cleaned every 6 months when they check the stones and settings (we bought a lifetime warranty) and I know it sparkles like crazy when they use that...
