If you are not wearing them that often, maybe that's a sign? Maybe you should toss your black pumps and add a pair in a bright, metallic, or animal print instead, to liven up your neutrals? What color is your hair?
I had a pair of career pumps in black, even had interesting hardware detailing which saved them from being too boring, but I found that the outfits were far more interesting with a non-black shoe, and I was never wearing these. So I tossed them. And haven't missed them at all.
Well... the only time I missed them was recently when I was working the booth and was told that the dress code was black pumps to go with black shirt and black pants. But I ignored that since I didn't have any black pumps and just wore red pumps one day, and snake skin print the next. I didn't get scolded. Everyone raved about my shoes. And I just feigned innocence, "I figured that part of the dress code was for men, not women."
I did add a $5 thrifted pair of black suede killer platform pumps (too high for PPL; skirt heels only), thinking they might come in handy with formal wear, but I've worn them exactly once, for same reason: if I'm donning an LBD, it's more interesting with a non-black shoe.
