Well, the Franco Sarto caramel boots came and the fit is SO off. I sized up and STILL too small in the foot/instep. I can force the boots to zip but the stretchy vent up the back is unattractive, and I can already feel the discomfort in my foot from the tightness.
Moving on.
So, the black Clarks (Ingalls Vicky) I got are great-and they are available for a low price in brown.

Should I duplicate? Does the brown look odd?

Considerations:
The black pair is super comfortable.
I'd like a fab pair of brown boots. I was aiming for cognac but dark brown definitely has my attention this season.
It's very hard for me to find tall boots that fit my wide calves and high instep.
I don't want to settle if the coloration on the brown pair makes them less than a 10.
Rounded toes like these are best for me. Pointy toes are really uncomfortable.
