City shorts yes or no?

I am trying to get these shorts back into rotation as they have been at the back of the wardrobe for some time. If they don't work they are going in the charity bag. What do we think? and also of the overall look here does it work?

I think both that the shorts are fine and the overall look is great.

Last season, these shorts were in, this season no, but I think you can still use it because they are a good exemple of classic and flattering shorts.

I just went shopping wearing that outfit and I felt quite comfy, not too self-conscious which is always a good thing. I didn't wear them last year since I had a huge baby bump lol! Thanks for your comments ladies

I vote yes! I am a fan of city shorts personally. I saw a girl yesterday wearing a crisp white pair with a tailored button down blouse and wedge sandals. She looked great!
I have tried clams for the past two summers, but they really do not do anything for me. I love them on the rest of y'all, but I have athletic thighs and thicker calves. My legs don't taper in much at the knee, so the clam length is not flattering at all. City shorts are my best option.

I have come to two conclusions about your style, please correct me if you disagree. I think you are drawn to quite classic pieces which are unlikely to date quickly and you also have a way of standing or holding yourself which makes your clothes fall beautifully.

I think you should be proud of yourself for looking so chic with a child as young as Thea.

Oh and with regards the city shorts it is a yes from me.

I think the shorts are fine and the whole outfit is cute and stylish. Have you tried putting a crease down the front of these with the iron? I think that would make them more narrow looking and dress them up a bit.

Keep! I like the look of city shorts and have some that look just like these. Mine also don't come out as much as they should but I think it's because the color is blah to me for summer compared to white. Put together in an outfit they look great. I'm drawn more to the color as fall approaches and I'm getting tired of white. I wore mine yesterday. Your use of pink and dark brown inspires me to copy your stylish combination.

RoseandJoan I think you are right about my style. Whenever I buy things really on trend I wear them a few times and end up hating them, hence not having a lot in my wardrobe, I need to concentrate on buying classic pieces that I can wear for longer without feeling self conscious that I am already out of date!
Joy when the shorts come out the washing I will try them with a crease and see if that helps. Come to think of it when I first bought them maybe they had a crease, I can't remember lol!
