City shopping trip #2 - new pants

A while back I expressed my intention to confine most of my shopping trip to one Australian department store, Myer, as I had $240 in vouchers I could spend there. Several people had reservations about this course of action - and they were right.
With the exception of the basement (youthful) section it was way out of my price range. I tried a few things on by Cue, which I loved, but didn't suit my SAHM lifestyle, and just couldn't justify, for example, $165 on a skirt.

It isn't a big disaster. The vouchers will last and I'll try for shoes in the spring (as per I think? LOP's advice). It was a bad time of the year to shop - winter stock denuded by the big sales and lots missing in my size!

But I did get these pants. The are very small black and white print, but look grey in the distance

These are the first dress pants costing more than $50 I have bought for 10 years because I hate buying them so much.

The smallest size was a little tight so I went up a size. Do you think they are okay, size wise and in other respects?

The pants are very nice, Anne. They look like they fit you well, especially in the side view. I think they'll be very versatile and be great with red that you wear so well.

As a NZ expact now living in London - I miss Cue, I used to love their work wear and had a jacket from there I wore to death over 3 years! I have never managed to replace it ;(

Cue is great isn't it. Actually even when I worked I never felt I could afford the clothes there ( I have only one outfit from there and it was on sale and not really their typical style) I didn't know they were in NZ.

Yeah, Cue is rather expensive - but I always bought on sale and good clothing is expensive in NZ anyway, but I think that it is worth it. The pieces that I had from there always fit well and wore well too.

I have a Cue red suit jacket that I bought at an Op shop. It is very 90's, (big shoulderpads. curving down at the front) and I haven't worn it for years, but I can't quite bare to get rid of it!

I agree that Cue prices are a bit nuts. I have one skirt from there, that's about it I think. Their stuff is nice, but I don't see myself paying over $100 for a boring white shirt anytime soon!!

Tam, the pants are Tokito and are in what used to be the Miss Shop section at Myer. They were about $80 which might have been a sale price. On the same rack they had a few pairs of what might have counted as microcheck pants (not in my size though)

I was tempted to look at the Cue website today and noticed that they were promoting the fact that some/all of their clothing was made in Australia - which perhaps explains why it is more costly.

LondonKiwi - yes I saw that info in the shop and it would explain the extra costs. I think I might just be willing to pay those prices if I worked in a professional job and would wear a garment every week (but not as a SAHM)
