I'm withholding comment because my opinion keeps changing anyway. I believe it will erd alterations of I choose to keep it, but wanted to show it as is. These are my highest wearable shoes.

Honest opinions? Not including my Christmas morning hair and face:)

How does the jacket fit in the shoulders - it looks like the shoulders may be a bit too large? If so, that is not really fixable. If the shoulders fit, then shortening the sleeves and possibly a slight nip at the waist are easy fixes. The pants (other than being too long) do look like they fit well. I'd like to see it with the type of type of top you plan to wear it with for a better idea overall.

Honest opinion- i prefer jackets that close myself, need pictures of the back of the jacket for fit. The pants are nice but again the back fit is key- more pictures!

I haven't been able to figure out how to get a decent back shot. I'll try again later. The shoulder fit is a big ? for me. I think they're too big, but I think it's the whole arm hole fit, not just the shoulder.

I could put a little hook in right above the inset so that it could be worn closed, but I'm not sure that I'd ever wear it closed.

The pants would need to be hemmed just a bit. I'm curious how it would look if the pants were tapered into a straighter fit and shortened accordingly.

That color is really nice on you, and the pants will be perfect once hemmed.

I'll concur on the shoulders, though: while they look slightly large to me, I think the problem may be that the armhole is cut too large and low. How well does the jacket move? I find that when I have that issue with armholes, it's hard for me to raise my arms for everyday tasks (even things like typing on a keyboard!) without causing a whole lot of pulling, shifting, bunching, etc. in the jacket.

I'm pretty certain I will return it. I am considering trying a size down in the jacket, but I don't feel very confident that that is going to fix the fit issue in the shoulders completely. I don't really have a need for a suit, I just really liked this one and thought it was a good time to add a suit to my wardrobe. For a suit to find a place in my closet I'd have to feel really fantastic in it, and this one isn't it.

I do feel more like myself in this less classic jacket shape, so that's something to keep in mind for future suits.

Traci, if you don't have a need for a suit yet, I would wait. A suit is so expensive that you really want to feel fantastic in it, like you said. And this one would probably require quite a few alterations, and who knows how it will look when the alts are done? I think you can probably do better if you continue hunting. There's no need to settle just yet.

I think the suit looks like it would require extensive alterations. It appears to be a good quality fabric, which is key. I think I'd either like to see you in the jacket with slimmer pants, or a different jacket with these, wider leg pants. Does that make sense?

Traci, is the blazer from JCP? If it is, I just purchased the exact same one! I'm not sure if I'm keeping mine either, I think it will be difficult to style (what type of shirt to wear under it). I also was drawn to the interesting shape of the jacket.

Traci I would love Angie to chime in here as I am conflicted. I love the idea of this suit but I don't think the fit is good enough. I have seen you wear things that work mush better for you. And I'm not sure I would want to invest in a suit that required a lot of alteration.

To be honest, Traci, even after those alterations, I would only wear them as separates-as the jacket looks a better length and cut with skirts to my eyes. Happy xmass:-)

Thanks ladies! Back it goes. That was my first reaction, but then I started second guessing if it had potential.

Karie, it IS the jacket from jcp. I think the great deal was swaying me to give it another shot, so I didn't want to bring price into the discussion here.

I am late to this thread -- I saw it on my phone but wanted to get a better view. My first thought was: that's the jacket Karie tried the other day!

I do like the idea of it. And it might be worth trying the size down. But I think it's right to return this size of jacket, at any rate. (Said by someone for whom a suit has become a HEWI.)
