Christmas shopping...Missoni?

2 years ago DS #1 developed a passion for Missoni patterns. Unfortunately, on a student budget it had been 'similar to' but nothing that is the real deal. I'm hoping maybe a Missoni scarf might be a nice Christmas present?

I am a B&M shopper, and am a little nervous about online shopping. I have seen scarves from $54 to $540 advertised on line, and wonder about the legitimacy of the lower end stuff.

Are there any legit online places I should be checking? Any Toronto, Canada shops I should be visiting?

I would appreciated any advice my Fab friends can provide.

Nordies has m Missoni, the diffusion line. Yoox also sells the whole line but is not always the current season so is less pricy. I have ordered from both.

Holts may carry the line.

Your DS has great taste! I have never had a problem with on line shopping in general (knock on wood) so I wouldn't hesitate (but check return policy). That being said -I've also have never purchased anything that I was worried about the legitmicy of the designer. So - my advice would be to try online shopping IN GENERAL - but maybe not for this specific purchase. What a thoughtful gift - I hope you're successful in your search!

I've had good luck on 6pm.com where you can find terrific deals, less than $100 US. Also Saks Off Fifth online. The lower priced scarves have more acrylic in the weave, but it's still of such good quality that it's not cheap in appearance or scratchy. Some of the lowest priced scarves are all acrylic, very light for warm weather and with a bit of sheen. I think those are less successful. I avoid anything with a metallic thread. Too itchy. I'm sorry, I don't know if these sites ship to Canada.
