I can finally start participating in the forum again! Between my sister's wedding (the 22nd), Christmas, out of town guests, and all of the prep all of those entail, I had to pretty much cut out my YLF time. But I missed it! I haven't been keeping up on WIWs either, so we'll see if I have the energy for some recreations or not.
I thought I'd share my style-relevant Christmas gifts: they're all accessories. First, the fabulous faux fur little scarf (it's one of the short ones with a slit in the front to overlap); I've been wanting one of these for awhile but haven't found the right one, so my mom surprised me with one in just the perfect silver/taupe colours. It was extra sweet of her as both she and my sister are not fans of faux fur. hehe I promise it looks far nicer than in the photograph; not sure what went wrong there. I wore it today & felt cosy and fabulous. I also received a little brushed silver ring in the shape of twigs/branches, and 4 brooches! The snow man is from my dear niece, the vintage bee & feminist one are from one of my best friends, and I also received a hedgehog brooch that hasn't arrived in the mail yet but in the picture it's completely adorable. My loved ones know me well!
I also got enough yarn to knit a sweater in a beautiful soft heathered dark red; it'll be my first sweater and it's so difficult to narrow it down to just one pattern! I still haven't completely decided on cardigan or jumper/pullover. And I received 2 Japanese sewing books and some fabric to give sewing a go. First up is either a full skirt out of the linen/cotton light blue chambray type of fabric at the bottom of the pile or some type of blouse/dress out of the floral, which is a cotton voile (I'm not sure about the purple in the middle; on the website it looked a lot darker/more muted but luckily there are free returns). So I'll be doing lots of creating in 2014, which I have more to say about soon!
For now, I'm off to catch up on posts. I hope everyone else had a fab holiday; mine was full of happiness and love and laughter and made me feel so lucky.
