It's true. The simplest way to say "Holiday," outside of the "Ugly" Christmas sweater, is to wear red. I've pulled the shade out of my closet several times this week:

1-3: Worn to volunteer for a Holiday event for people with early-stage dementia. Some of you know that my white bootcuts died an ignoble death. So, I repeated the look I wore to my daughter's concert and created a "black suit" effect. Closeups on the jewels!

4-5: Worn to teach from home. I wasn't happy with my first combination, and I was running out of time, so, yes, I did mix dots and houndstooth. I love the look of these trousers, but after fewer than 10 wears the print is already wearing off on the knees and bum. The ponte is nice and thick, and holds it shape well, but the trousers are not yarn dyed.

6-8: Worn to church Again, I tried several combinations, but time was ticking, so this classic look, with some added tinsel, saved the day. I am indeed wearing 5 layered necklaces and two bracelets. I did restrain myself with simple gold studs for earrings. It was 62F, so I could actually go barelegged in December. Time to by some sheer hose!
