Christmas goodies and new purchases

I have missed you all while I've been away! I did think of everyone and the great advice I'd been given.
First of all, thanks for the advice on what to wear while enjoying my freezing holiday! I wasn't cold once. The boots over jeans and puffer suggestions were perfect.
Secondly, while I mostly received athletic/fitness related gifts for Christmas, I did a bit of shopping for myself both before and after Christmas. Please use CRS, thanks!

Sarah, I love everything you posted. The darker buttons on your cream coat make such a difference. 10.
The short trench looks a little big, but it leaves you room to layer. It has a lot of detail going on but looks like it's a good length. I have a similar Calvin Klein short trench but not double-breasted in blue and love to pair it with a great scarf to make it warmer when needed. The only thing I'm not sure about is the color on you. It's ok but not fab, but looks like a good neutral. 8
I love that Target puffer coat on you. You look so slim in it! 10 for a puffer.
The pleather jacket looks fine in the photos, a great style on you. 9.
The Chiffon Cardigan is your color, but I'm not sure about the style. I'd like to see it at another angle before judging it. How does it look over the Elizabeth halter?
Love the bracelet!! 10 Silk cami 9 (would be a 10 if it were a bit longer)
Beaded cashmere shell 8. I like the beading around the neckline but not so much around the arm.
Elizabeth halters 10 for color and style. I love how you paired the cream one with the argyle sweater. You are beautiful and look wonderful in everything

sarah, you look fabulous in everything!! i can't get over how great the white jacket looks with those brown buttons! never would have imagined how big a difference a simple swap of buttons would be!

the shorter trench may be a touch big, but i kind of like it like that! however, the color isn't my favorite. maybe a touch of color with a scarf would be a nice touch.

bomber looks great! not cheesy or fake at all!

cropped cardi is fabulous! classic layering piece and definitely one of your best colors!

bracelet is super elegant!

beaded shell - i love the touch of sparkle though i don't know if i love it around the arm either. but, that's easily covered with a cardi or blazer. it's not that bad though, so you could wear it without a cover-up as well.

cute puffer - you look so tall! the hat looks really cute too! i can never pull off a beret because i'm never sure how to wear them.

the argyle sweater is also fabulous! very preppy, which i love!

ps did i ever mention how fab those jeans are? they are the greatest fit on you!

pps how cute to show what bryan got as well! i like the little toadstool

Wow Sarah that's such a great haul! You are very lucky.

I absolutely adore the cream coat with new buttons.

The trench - it's a bit big and the color is so-so, I'd give it an 8.

The bomber jacket does not look fake at all - 9.5

Cropped cardi- so pretty (9).

You look great in everything. And those are some awesome Xmas presents.

The puffer fits you great (9.5) and the hat looks gorgeous on you.

The silk halters are gorgeous (10).

Silk cami - another gorgeous thing, I'd give it a 9. The shell is pretty too, but I don't like the arm detail so much -8.

You all are so kind! I think I'll return the trench. I've seen others already around here that have more color (deeper khaki, etc) instead of the washed stone color.
I can't return the black cashmere sleeveless sweater with beading, but I think it looks pretty with my pink taffeta skirt. Hopefully that will give it some spark. I could also use it to layer under jackets.
I owe a huge thank you to everyone who suggested switching out the buttons on my coat. I *think* it was Angie/Shiny/Tanya but I am not 100% sure. So whoever that was, thank you! It dressed down the coat a bit and made it more every-day, which is what I needed. Plus, I think the color I picked goes well with both black and brown.
Shell, my sister found those toadstools (from Mario). My husband is a huge fan of anything like that, so it was perfect for him. We eat one of the little candies in it when we need some energy (one up!!).

The cream coat is KILLER. I'm glad you followed through on the suggestion of changing the buttons. A cream coat needs contrasting buttons! 10, 10, 10.

I do not prefer the tan colour of the trench and it looks a little roomy in the wrong places. I vote return.

Pleather bomber = KILLER. 10.

Beret = KILLER. 10

Snowflake necklace/bracelet = KILLER. 10.

The puffer and all the little tops and cardi’s are great! Perfect for your climate (but puffer will hibernate for a while I’m sure). It’s been fabulous seeing your style evolve on ever shrinking you! WELL DONE.

Hey! Thanks for the compliments. Those are JCrew's High Heel Flare jeans in indigo wash. I liked them when they first came out and waited patiently for them to go on sale.

If it helps, I'm an hourglass with pear tendancies. Size 8 and 5'6". I also tried the trouser jeans at JCrew and they did nothing for me. Good luck!

Sarah, I've missed you on the forum too. I'm glad you had such a great holiday and can't wait to see you next week. My favorite things you got are the bomber, the puffer and the beret. I love the new buttons on your cream coat and the bracelet-- it's so pretty. I also enjoyed seeing your family on the other thread. Your whole family is gorgeous and it's fun to see how much your sister looks like you.

Thanks, Patience! I'm looking forward to next week, too. The snowfake is actually a necklace (fairly long) but since it doesn't show up on the poppy chiffon cardi, I looped it over my wrist so you could see the detail. It's so pretty - I was afraid my grandma was going to steal it!
