I'm preparing my holiday travel capsule and attending a few local events before we hit the road.

1. I wore this to attend a concert. It begins with crimson (it's photographing lighter) t-neck paired with a newish skirt that's part of a revamp of my "concert black" performing capsule. I needed a skirt that covers my knees and is non-binding (breathe!) and lightweight (those lights are HOT). This skirt is a georgette/chiffon sewn on in bias strips. It won't be everyone's cuppa, but I like a little movement in my skirts/dresses on stage. It has a smocked midriff, which is great for singing, but tough on tucking. It was brutally cold, so I wore tights and tall boots, but I'd prefer this with my black patent peep toes or my black booties and sheerer black hose.

2. With my new dressy purse -- a clutch that is faux-snakeskin (DSW faux, not K-Mart faux).

3. Same sweater, in a combo from my travel capsule. Levi's mid-rise skinnies, low-heeled boots, and an OLD boiled-wool vest. I wouldn't purchase this vest today, but it's just the right amount of warmth, and I like the layering/textural element.

4. With a largish challis scarf -- just the warmth, but light and very versatile, this will make it into my suitcase. I feel a little Ornella-ish,
