Christieanne suggestion and a question

Hello YLF,

I am sorry for posting and run.Today I am not feeling so good, the weather changes give me trouble with my troath and the only one that finds it funny that I loose my voice is DD.
(i know, i know, need a little bit of cheese with the whine ;-))
Christieanne suggested that I did a low contrast between top and bottom when wearing the bootcuts with flats.Although these are my long and leans and I am wearing heels it was her suggestion that reminded me of this outfit.
My question is: are the shoes very ugly?I know for a fact that the rest of the women in my family hate them but we do have very different tastes when it comes to shoes.
In the pic they seem darker than they are but you have a free pass to hate them also.Just be honest.

I don't think they're ugly and they work well with what you have on. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I don't find them ugly, either. They are definitely more casual with the chunkier build, but it's just a different look. I tend to wear chunkier shoes because 1) they're more comfortable and 2) they better balance my wide feet and muscular legs.

I don't think they are ugly, they just have chunkier heel so maybe that's why other people may not like it?

I LOVE those kilties! Maybe those other family members like a very refined, formal look? Those shoes definitely have a RATE casual vibe to them.

To me the style of the shoes looks fine with your outfit. I'm not sure if it's the style of the leather or not, but they look like they might need a good polish. Maybe it's the RATE look

They look fine to me! I like a kiltie style and I think they look nice with the pants and the jacket.

I don't find the shoes ugly nor amazing. I really like the finish and I like the styling EXCEPT for the thicker sole in the front but I prefer shoes with thin thin soles. I think they look good with this outfit and I love the little neck scarf, such pretty colors!

I'm with Aida. The important thing is that YOU like them. I have plenty of shoes in my closet that my friends or my husband think are ugly or ridiculous but they're not the ones wearing them right?

I think the shoes are fine! They look great with what you're wearing. I like your outfit. The blue is lovely on you and really contrasts nicely with the tan jacket.

What a lovely preppy outfit. I love this look on you. The shoes are just the perfect ones to wear with it, and very useful with bootcut jeans too.

Oh you tried my idea! I am so glad you liked the suggestion - I think your outfit looks terrific! Love the blazer and tonal column you created. Those shoes are great - classic preppy. I like a brown leather with lighter jean. The other women probably wear shoes you don't like either
