What do you wear to a meetup? Well, I'm not patient with fussy details and layers when I'm to be wriggling in and out of clothes in the dressing room! The weather needed consideration, as well, since it was to reach about 50 degrees, and Old Orchard Shopping Center is an outdoor courtyard mall.
I opted for Angie's autumnal treatment of white jeans, paired with a red turtleneck, black low-stance blazer and the debut of my red Munro booties.
I immediately recognized Day Vies, with her fab style and beaming smile!
Over a yummy lunch at Nordies' Cafe (I heartily recommend the Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad) we got to know each other better with some wonderful conversation. I learned, for instance, that Day Vies studied the History of Art -- no wonder she has such a keen eye for color and proportion!
We browsed the shoes at Nordies, sharing a particular love for rich shades of brown and cherry in the tall boots. Before we left the store, an employee in Customer Service came from behind the desk to snap a pic!
We spent an enjoyable hour in Ann Taylor. The place was packed (40 percent off), but we managed to have dressing rooms across from one another (so fun).
Too quickly, it was time to say goodbye, but I feel like I ended the day with a new friend and a great shopping buddy. Hope we get to do it again!
