Hello.

In Janet's Spring (closet) cleaning post, I mentioned my summer shopping list. Thank you Janet for sparking me to get organized for the upcoming seasons.

I've spent the past couple of weeks finishing up organizing my closet for spring/summer and checking off the items on my shopping list. I've even managed to wear a few pieces already.

In the end, how did I do with my shopping list?

Pretty well. I got most of the items on my original list, along with 2 wildcards. A few things I haven't found and will roll over to next year. If I happen to stumble across them during the season that's fine too, but they are not high priority items.

Here's a review of the list:

  • green pants-never got. I think these will be easier to find in fall collections
  • light blue or light purple pants-got lilac wide legs from Kohls
  • white pants-got pret a pedi pants from WHBM
  • denim shorts-decided not to get, instead I got a pair of blue heritage chino shorts by JCrew instead
  • light blue shorts-got a cargo pair from Kohls
  • coral or other orangey color shorts-got a coral chino pair from Amazon in the mid rise curvy fit
  • track pants (not sure on the color yet)-never got. I have a very sporty style and find it ironic that I just haven't seen a pair of track pants that are just right to me yet. I'm happy to keep searching
  • white crossbody bag-never got. I've looked for a white bag for a few years now, but I am very picking with bags and nothing has caught my eye yet. I have two ivory bags that work just fine when I want a lighter handbag for now
  • Wildcard #1 - Cropped, slim fit Kut from the Kloth jeans in peach, a new to me color. I really enjoyed my orange Zella pants from NAS last year and I wanted to continue to play with orangey colors in my wardrobe
  • Wildcard #2 - White Kathryn Sailboat print button up shirt by Rails. I have a fondness for Rails button up shirts and I could not pass up this sailboat shirt, especially because I caught it on sale.
I also freshened up my spring athleisure capsule which I talked about in this post Spring Athleisure Capsule Refresh (Long) and I had added 3 thrifted items to my summer wardrobe (tan jacket, ivory shorts, red/black/white plaid shirt) that I mentioned in this post.

At this point, I feel well prepared for spring and summer. The weather just needs to settle down now. (It was mid 80F this weekend and it's going to be back to the mid 50F this upcoming week)

Is your wardrobe ready for the upcoming season?
