Like many of us, I love fall. The colours, textures, lower light, smells of the season, fall flowers, orange leaves , everything . I love summer too - but the heat (and smoke this year) leaves me drained and ready for cooler temps. I seem to be cheating the upcoming season earlier and earlier - and with the first week of August this year , I'm completely done with bright colours in everything . I have switched my nail colour to brown/cafe au lait, changed over my bathroom shower curtain and bath mats to a grey mix (from summer whites) , switched out some decorative pieces around the house for more muted tones and heavier textures and am looking for a couple of brown pieces to add to my closet. Nothing much, just a couple of early fall pieces in lightweight fabrics.

In our typically hot and sunny summers, outdoor annuals don't last much past July without looking ragged and, well, done. My condo baskets and pots get direct sun for a lot of the day, and are exposed to the elements more than they would be around a house. So - a trip to the garden centre is happening this weekend to look for something to refresh my pots for the next few months. I'm not quite at the clove and cinnamon candle stage - yet (September 1st, lol) but I can't wait!

Anyone else push fall as early as they can?
