Charity Drag Show Need Help! Lol

hi all! I’m Patrick and I’m brand new to this and trying to find fashion help basically lol. I have to be in a charity drag show over a bet I lost over a football game and I’m just lost as can be lol. In the show I need 3 outfits and the rules are they have to basically be as feminine as possible and I need to look more authentic rather than a drag queen. So yea if anyone can help on shoes to makeup to whatever else just to give me pointers or whatever, I’m single and I don’t have a sister to help me with this but it’s for charity so I figure I may as well man up and do it lol. It depends on what kind of show. Standard AKC conformation dog shows are dress up,,not as formal as something like Westminster. Men are required to wear coat and tie. Women wear what I would call dressy or business--..no jeans, but can wear dressy pants, blazers or dressy jackets, skirts of any kind, or dresses like one would wear to an office. So depending on if the show is indoors or outdoors and climate would dictate somewhat . I would advise a simple dress, no bare hairy arms , panty hose or tights and flats. Almost all women wear flats as they have to gate the dogs around which is like a little run. Don't forget hair and enough makeup to make you look feminine not extreme.

Lol. Maybe you should borrow a fluffy little dog for the show. Nice touch. You got good advice about starting with the hair. Anything looks more feminine in pink. Include at least one dress or skirt and top. A faux furry jacket or coat is another thought. Good luck. You are a good sport.

If you have a theatre nearby, or even a college or high school drama department, thats a good place to check. They tend to have overflowing costume departments, and will most likely be very positive about helping.

Oh man I wish it were a dog show! Hahahaha! Ok and I mean I do have shoulder length hair so the hair part should be good lol. What about makeup and all that stuff too? The 3 outfits I need are one has to be formal, one has to be Christmas and one has to be casual. I’m supposed to also look less like a drag queen and more like an actual woman lol....apparently that’s more humiliating for some reason lol. Also on here because I’m not allowed to get help from girls I know and stuff. So yea I’m basically lost in the weeds. Tho I did buy some nail polish today when I was at Target because curiosity got the best of me lol

Are you asking for help with sizing or picking out outfit? If you look through the conversations on the forum you will see posts about festive wear, and WIW’s, which are photos of what women wore, and many indicate whether it was something casual, for a party, etc.
Another idea is to pay attention to what the women around you are wearing.

Another is to shop at a thrift store so you spend less money. Before you start out take your measurements and bring a tape measure with you so you have an idea whether something will fit you or not.

If you are near a Macy’s some of them have both some fairly inexpensive clothing and a free personal shopper who could pull clothes for you ahead of time and put you in a private dressing room.

Afterwards you could donate any clothing to Dress for Success, a women’s shelter, etc.

Yea I mean I just wanted to pick some your brains and just get some help. Especially hair and makeup. Also I may just paint my toes today lol get into character a bit lol

Hair is tricky if your own is very short.lf you have any length try curling it,if not try a wig. painting your fingernails and putting on makeup will automatically feminise you. Clip on earrings and jewellery.Can you borrow from a female friend or as previously suggested charity shops can keep costs down.If you need help with makeup Lisa Aldridge is a great site for application ,ignore the fact that it’s aimed at us girls ,for this coming charity event you are an Honorary girl!Good luck!

You said hair is shoulder length, how about a side part? Makeup can be found at dollar tree to keep it cheap, artificial lashes if youre comfortable with that. Shoes will be the biggest problem!

Thanks for the makeup tip! and yea my hair is shoulder length. The clothes have to be new because they will be auctioned during the show. And I will wear my honorary girl badge with honor! Lol

I wear a men’s 7.5 in shoes so not sure what size in women’s. And yea hair is shoulder length and I’m fine with lashes. Go big or go home right?

If you wear a men's size 7.5 in US sizing then you would be about a women's size 9.5. Thrift stores would be a good place to look. Size 9.5 is not that hard to find. Also, places like Walmart and Target would carry that size.
I would suggest waxing your arms, legs and chest unless you already do that. Yes, it hurts. I am suggesting waxing because shaving doesn't give the same result. Lots of men go to wax bars. Find one that is male friendly.
You might want to get your eyebrows shaped. They will grow back. But then you might like the look. Lots of men do this. Go for a nice natural look.
Wayne Goss is a make up artist on You Tube who practices on himself. That might help you. I personally prefer Lisa Eldridge because she goes through an entire look.
I think it might actually be a lot of fun.

So you think wax for sure over shaving? And yea I’m starting to realize this might really be fun. Should I get nail done professionally? Already looking into makeup and do you all think getting eyebrows shaped for sure too? Does anyone have any actual outfit ideas for it? Like head to toe?

I think it might be fun. Shaving doesn't last all that long unless you have really fine hair and it is blonde. Do a sample test and see. I haven't seen your face so I can't say about your eyebrows for sure but most men I know need their eyebrows done if they want to look like a woman. Nails might help. Depends on the condition of your hands.
In terms of outfits, I am not much of an expert. Is formal evening wear? Then you might want a long gown. Casual could be a skirt (I would keep away from pants) with a sweater. Depends on what you can find. You will need a padded bra.

First of all, good for you for embracing this challenge! Many guys I know would rather 'write a check' than put themselves out there for a charitable cause. Hopefully, the charitable cause will benefit greatly because of the spirit with which you have undertaken this project.

Can you enlist the help of a personal shopper (sometimes men) in a department store? And the (usually free) services of a makeup counter in a department store? Many women have their makeup done at these counters prior to big events. If you explain what you are doing it seems like there are LOTS of people who would step up to help.

Find a hair salon that also does makeup and perhaps even nails. Tell them this is for charity. They can do all of it for you on the day of the event. Some salons also do brows, but yours look pretty good and natural brows are in. At most they may need some trimming -- I don't think I'd pluck.

You don't necessarily need to wax or shave your legs if you don't want to, though that would be going the extra mile for sure. You can just get opaque stockings in a nude color to cover. You could also wear a flesh-toned long sleeve body suit. Or choose clothes with long sleeves.

You could try Rent the Runway.
