What I love about YLF in addition to the tremendously supportive network of beautiful women (inside and out) is how much I learn! Today I realized with a little effort on my part – I can use the versatility of my clothes to create countless ensembles…and dress them up or down as the occasion demands. And on a limited budget! It is soo instructive to read everyone’s postings and reflect on the style journey we are all taking.
I’m so excited about this latest outfit I’ve put together – I feel like I’m channeling so many YLFers in it. Loved Angie’s birthday outfit – so when I saw this black lace shell at The Bay –(Vero Moda - $35.00) I scooped it up. Rummaging through DD’s closet ( a la JR!) I spied this lovely B&W skirt. Probably a few years old (DD’s clothes have an extremely short shelf life). Seems it originated from Ricki’s. I had been looking for long strand of pearls and managed to find some finally in my budget – Aldos – 12.00 per strand. I think I had one of Deborah’s wedding outfits in mind when I put the whole thing together. So thrilled with how comfortable it feels!
I’m very conscious that quality pieces that cost more will stand the test of time. But until I figure out what feels best for me I am happy taking these baby steps. Thank you all for so openly sharing your style!
