Has anyone seen this metallic jacket IRL?
I find the material interesting. There are a couple of reviews that are very critical of the fabrication, but I've seen the skirt and tops and don't find it off-putting, as long as you know it's more casual shine than luxe-tux type. The skirt fabric was attractive but was unforgiving as to fit, but I think the jacket might work differently. Or maybe the reviewers are on target!
I may try it! I would have to consider whether I'm "oversparkled" since I am planning on the metallic tux jacket. This is a very intriguing color, metallic but neutral, less "evening" than the silver tux. It's short so would not be good for pants, on me, so that may be a deal-breaker unless it's total fabness with skirts.
I'm wondering why I'm drawn to metallic toppers and tops. Could be I'm just a hoochie-magpie at heart. Or could be that I find it more difficult to add sparkle with jewelry. No pierced ears, so sparkly earrings are hard to do and feel current. Usually wear fairly high necklines, which in theory should work with various types of dressy necklaces, but not always. Or it may be that actual dressy dresses are hard to find and even harder if searching for not-black, lighter and more luminous colors.
I vowed once to "stay versatile" and focus on tops or dresses that are a neutral backdrop for dressy accessories, but somehow that has been harder than expected. Plus I often need sleeves or even a jacket.
Over to you--have metallic or sparkly tops and toppers been a help, or a hindrance; are they prone to orphan-hood?
