Changing This for That (a.k.a. girl math)

Thanks to Una's recent post with those lovely Fluevog pumps she's thinking of purchasing, I started browsing the Fluevog website and just posted about these gorgeous shoes I found http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ou-have-to. They are right up my alley...well, my new alley of refined footwear and no heels.

And yesterday I posted about this lovely kimono jacket http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....cket-re-do which I will admit to popping into my cart but not yet pressing the "buy" button.

So doing some girl math and thinking about what I will really wear and what makes more sense, I've taken the kimono jacket out of my cart as I don't see me wearing it a lot although I'm sure I'd love it the few times I wore it. Plus I'm less sure of fit on this and it cannot be returned as there is no return policy.

Instead I'm ordering the shoes which although on sale, can at least be returned for exchange or online store credit and will be worn much more frequently if they fit. I have a few shoe holes for fall/winter that need filling and flat black oxfords are #1 on the list. These could fill that hole. Plus my experience with Fluevog based on the one pair I have that Suz gave me, is that they are extremely good quality and very comfortable.

I have gone ahead and purchased the Eileen Fisher cardigan I posted about here http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....me-in-this also for fall/winter. It can be returned for a full refund should it not work out.

What do you think? Do these purchases make sense?

I think these purchases sound very carefully thought out both from a buying standpoint (returns), but also from a wardrobe hole standpoint. It sounds like they'll fill established holes and be worn frequently.

YGG! I love the shoes, and the kimono jacket seems fab but a potential orphan.

Yes, and I heartily recommend calling one or two Fluevog stores to ask about sizing (Fluevog sizing is all over the map, and hopefully to get it right the first time).

We have one here now, in Minneapolis!, and I could sure call for you, but they're are only open a few months and didn't seem very knowledgeable when I stopped in there late spring.

MNsara - we don't have any Fluevog stores in my province. I have heard their sizing is all over the map but decided to risk it and ordered them in my usual size based on the reviews I read. They didn't have it in a half size up anyway. Decided it was worth the risk as they can be returned if they don't fit. Thanks for the advice though.

I think the math makes pefect sense Shannon; good call. I hope the Fluevogs fit and I like the cardigan too. Nice choices, way to go!

Perfect girl math!! And I agree, the shoes are more "you" and as such, will get far more wear!
