I haven't been dieting and I am not ill but I have lost weight and am now a size 8 (UK). This means that a lot of my clothes are now too big for me! Daughter is having a lovely time directing me to rails with size 8 clothes though I still veer towards the size 12 items!
This is giving me a great opportunity to add colour to my wardrobe. I love black and white as it's a safe, but perhaps dull way of dressing. (Colour meant scarves, or sometimes gloves! ) Now my coats/jackets/cardigans are red. jade green, cobalt blue, and my latest handbag is a lovely cherry red. They cheer me up and. when I feel a bit "apprehensive", I add my comfort blanket in the form of a black scarf!
My shoes are still a practical black but this is because I have small feet (35/2.5): that size not easy to find. I am often advised to visit the Children's Department but youngsters these days seem to have big feet and the styles are just not suitable for an old woman!!
These changes might be small but for me they loom large, added to which I am slowly changing my attitude and accepting invitations even though deep down I often want to say "No". Life is becoming more colourful!
