What do you think of this long gown? I think the poof sleeves have to go and obviously the length is a problem. Is there potential or should I leave it?

If it helps you make your mind, it is 18$. Regular 260$.

The dress is stunning on you lyn - especially in that gorgeous colour. I wouldn't touch the sleeves - I think they're beautiful. Shortening would be easy. Is this something you could buy, alter and then have available for when an event gets sprung on you? Angie has mentioned before that it's good to buy cocktail/dressy event clothing when you come upon it because it's when you have something to go to that you can't find anything.

You could probably shorten it to knee-length even, if you thought that you'd get more wear out of it then.

Agreeing with Shannon that having this 'at the ready' for Christmas galas or a New Year's party or the like would be great. And as someone who understands buying on a budget, a great dress under $20 is not something you come by often, least of all when you really need it right before an event pops up and you're scrambling!

I believe Nina Garcia also subscribes to the notion of "have a black-tie-appropriate dress on hand by shopping for one basically all the time until you find one you love for a price you can live with and then you won't ever have to buy one under pressure for way more money than you would want to spend considering that you never go to black tie events which is why you don't already have a dress for one." (I'm paraphrasing.) For $18, I am a screaming yes. (Not to mention that I kind of adored Pippa's bridesmaid dress, which this appears to reference.)
