Hiya, sounds like a great outfit! Sandals I find tricky with stockings in general, is it possible to go bare-legged? Another thought is going for a closed-toe shoe instead; Angie wore one with a dark stocking and it looked great! http://youlookfab.com/2014/12/.....-holidays/

If you must wear tights (as I would feel I had to), I suggest either very fine fishnets in nude like the ones made by Falke or these toeless extra-sheers from Wolford in cosmetic (also assuming you are pale-skinned): http://www.barenecessities.com.....5&...=. Both are price-y but exquisite, though nearly invisible, and would look smashing with the gold sandals. I don't work for any of these companies -- but I've found that, as I am getting older and can't really go bare-legged anymore, really refined tights work better than the old stalwarts.

As I shall be 85 in August I can't go bare-legged to a wedding. I have bought a pair of very fine tights in a nude colour but haven't tried them on. Really should as I need a couple of pairs in case of a ladder. Wasn't sure if they would be OK.

The outfit is from Wallis Petite and if you've never heard of that label it's because it's a British firm. I am in the UK.

I am only 5 foot in height so a lot of clothes swamp me. This outfit, I think, is just right and fits in the right places!

I will don the whole outfit later and post it for you to see. Too late, mind, for me to change my mind again, if there are adverse comments! :O)

I think the nude color sounds perfect for a summer event. If it was for fall or winter, black sheer might be a better color for the tights. Your outfit sounds lovely, Eirlys - I can't wait to see it!

I think a very fine nude tight made for sandals would be perfect. I totally understand not wanting to go bare-legged; my legs aren't bad for 65, but they sure don't look like they used to... And, after a certain age, fishnets can also have a weird vibe.

Eirlys , your dress sounds beautiful. Splurge for those extra sheer nude stockings. How much of your toes are revealed by your sandals? That could be a factor too.

I've checked my tights. They're Slightly Sunkissed shade and look good with the outfit so I've ordered another pair, in case of ladders.

I've worn Barely Black for so long now I'd forgotten other shades exist!

Agreeing you made the right choice going with nude instead of dark and I love the description of your outfit! It's so rare to see a dress with a matching coat, it sounds lovely.
