Hi All

As I was looking in my wardrobe this morning I realised I have accumulated a few spotted items. Many of us are stripes lovers, or plaid/checks and some floral/botanical.

I thought a small challenge could be fun!!

(EDITED CHALLENGES DUE TO SUGGESTIONS)

Challenge One: Spots and Dots
Challenge Two: Stripes and geometrics (chevron)
Challenge Three: Plaid, checks, gingham and tartan
Challenge Four: Florals and Botanicals
Challenge Five: Abstract and other prints - eg butterflies, birds, cats, pineapples, mountains or Ikat, batik, Pasifika etc
Challenge Six: Animal print - leopard, snakeskin etc

I will start the first thread later today. Just add pics and a comment to the one thread and hopefully we will have a thread full of spots. You can add once or many times depending on how much you like that pattern. You can join in on one thread only, or on all of them.

Feel free to add suggestions to make this challenge work:)

This sounds fun! Are you thinking outfit photos with the patterns, or something more along the lines of pulling all my floral items out of the closet and photographing the giant pile? I probably wouldn't do the latter because I don't want to put them all away afterwards!

I was thinking of WIW pics, so basically a chance to wear polka dots or florals etc...

I am wearing polka dots today and will pull out my other winter "spots" this week:)

I can do the tartan one already since I wore that last week at Conference. And I can do butterflies, I have a tunic and I wear butterfly earrings with it. Fun idea!

I don't do many patterns, especially in tops. I'm definitely interested in seeing the posts/responses/outfits this challenge brings on! If I see one I can respond to, I'll hop in

Thank you for this in and interesting challenge. I will try to play, as I have summer items in each category. How often do you think that you will change?

Thanks Joy - I was thinking of posting one every four or five days but can do them more quickly.

Roughly - Stripes Monday 7/8, Checks/Plaid Thursday 10/8, Floral botanical Monday 17/8 and Abstract/Other Thursday 21/8

People can wear what they like whenever and just post the pic as the thread is loaded.

I do wear more pattern in summer so I don't have a lot but I do have something for every category:)

No animal print day?

I probably have more checks and plaid than anything, but most of them are packed away for the winter.

"Today 86% of Canadians put away the summer plaid and got out the fall plaid" (from @statscanada, a parody twitter account)

Oh should we do animal print too.....I could add this one in as well, why not? I only have a scarf but it is still worthy. We'll do this one at the end I think.

What about geometrics like chevron patterns? You could throw them in with stripes.

I will revise the list to be

Challenge One: Spots and Dots

Most of my patterns are for summer, so your timing is good. I could probably do a week of each pattern ( hanging head in shame).

Just saw your thread and I will try to do at least one, maybe more. I haven't taken outfit pictures in ages. Might be the way to get back to posting.

Yes this is a fun challenge and I will participate. I think I can come up with most of these, the animal print is one that I have well and truly covered, I am wearing it today!

I am pleased that there are lots of pattern lovers like me!! I only have one animal print right now so I am pleased there are others who can fill that thread up.
