Challenge: Reality vs Fantasy #4

I'm determined to get all five days done I hope you're not getting sick of the sight of me!

Firstly, my reality outfit is an FFBO spring outfit that I've worn may times and the pieces are showing a little wear now. It's not terribly exciting. The jumper has a little fuzziness here and there and the lycra in my well worn white jeans is going a bit around the crotch area. Still, very comfy and suitable for yet another quiet day working at home. It's been a week with not many appointments, though some weeks it can be like Grand Central Station with fittings and such.

On to my fantasy outfit. So, it's still very chilly indeed here in the UK and I'm craving the warmth off a couple of weeks ago. I'd love to wear my tube skirt with bare legs/sandals and nip out to meet a pal (shame they're all at work :(), or just pop out on my own to a little café in a local village. I did actually wear a variation of this with different footwear and bag last week to go to the dentist of all places...well...just because I could :D. *IF* the weather behaves in a weeks time it's possible I may be able to put this outfit on as I think I'm going out to a pre-Birthday lunch.

Skirt and (side, semi-tucked) top are made by me, denim jacket is a couple of years old and the shoes have yet to be worn as they are new. The bag is 2 years old.

Very nice, and I never get tired of seeing your outfits! I like how you've semi-tucked both versions. I like how you've paired the skirt with the denim jacket for a dressed-up/dressed-down chic casual vibe.

At home looks are often helped by a good dose of flattering color --- and that pink is lovely on you! The brightness of white pants is far preferable to staying in loungewear!

#2 is stunning -- I'm so glad you decided it didn't have to be a special occasion to wear it. Wear it often! Love the low contrast booties with the look!

I love both and especially the fantasy outfit. It's incredible to me to see clothing actually made by fabbers -- that is so outside of my abilities. And those shoes are incredibly lovely. it's a perfect look from head to toe.

You are having too much fun while I'm drowning in my week (argh!) Both outfits are too good. I really love your tube skirt with the shooties. The at home is good too - but gosh, quite different. The fantasy outfit is much earthier... I say, do you have any feelings about that? I have to go have a look at your other outfits to see if there's a similar dichotomy...

Thanks Rachy! I think you may see quite a bit of dichotomy as I'm a bit of an Elegant Eclectic, as I was once dubbed by Angie. I love so many different styles, so I do pootle back and forth between brighter tones/earthy tones and I'm becoming more interested in trying different silhouettes too.

I'm back to say - I LOVE THOSE SHOES. I wish the heel was a little lower for me though. So there - I shan't be stealing them then. Although that would come in very handy because I think you are my foot twin - with Shevia and Laura 65 too. Size US 6.5 low volume feet.

Yes, foot twins. To be honest I haven't road tested the shoes for a long period of walking, so it remains to be seen just how comfy they really are. I suspect they will be 2 to 3 hr shoes. Or at least lots of breaks for tea and cake!

Fabulous -- both outfits! In this case, weather is the villain because there is nothing "fantasy" about #2 except how great you look. You are perfectly at home in this outfit and it shows. ADORE the shoes, by the way.

Oh, and I could steal them, too.....US 6.5 (but not really low volume, so they might be a bit narrow or snug on my instep....)

Beth Ann had a great point about using color for stay at home casual looks... I think that's why I am so drawn to color..
The booties are fantastic and the entire outfit is so chic. Glad you had an opportunity to wear it and it isn't a fantasy that can't come out to play.
