Challenge Day 3: Norma Kamali Druid Cocoon

And now for something completely different...

LMA gifted me this garment a few Christmases ago. I break it out when the weather is *extremely* cold, as it is today, but have never layered it up like this before.

Overstory: Norma Kamali, er, zip coat.
Beneath:
Black Heattech Extra Warm
Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots, over leggings, over tights. Boots are again too large, again due to problem feet.

Did I mention it's cold here today? The overstory has a hood (hence its Druidity) which I may just put on if I can't get any warmer.

I want one!Loads of room for lots of layers and no one can tell what lies beneath,this would be just perfect for me now and the hood is a very special touch.speaking from the land of the Druids,l heartily approve!

Oh yes that’s fab Kamali wardrobe piece for layering on this super cold day. Looks great with the black leggings and high boots, and boy, I so get the footwear issues.

Feeling cooped up and suggested to DH we go for a walk. He gave me the over-the-top-of-the glasses look, and then went back to playing Suduko on his tablet.

Days like this are why I love a garment with thumbholes!

Have now removed the SW boots because their hard sole is not all-day comfortable and I'm on kitchen duty tonight.

Another remarkable outfit. Loving how you are wearing your leggings/skinny-ish jeans and keeping it current! Footwear seems to be a key element along with timeless pieces. So good!

What a cool piece! Love how everything works together as well.

I hear you on the cold! I had to go out earlier today and had to bring out all the big guns: Heattech layers, Smartwool socks, faux fur lined sneakers, wool layers, cashmere hat and scarf, and my warmest puffer made by a Canadian brand who knows how to make puffers for sub-freezing temps ( Soia & Kyo). Stay warm!

No worries, Angie, Bodie is zipped into one of his warm red coats any time we head outside.

(His idea of helping get the coat on is to lie on his back and paddle his paws in the air, making the whole process much more lengthy than necessary.)

I have found that a piece of wardrobe needs to be dedicated to clothes for those very cold days. Today I bought on consignment some leather-like pants dice extreme cold continues . Leather cuts the cold wind and keeps warmth in. My heaviest sweaters are getting a workout this year when some years they are not worn at all. The next couple of days call for dresses or skirts in even colder temperatures than we have been having. This.calls for a long velvet skirt with snow boots and a wool turtleneck under a burgundy heavy lined Icelandic lined cardigan with layers of winter underwear underneath and wool socks. Not the time for open concept homes. Keep that cute outfit for the coldest days. You will be glad some years that you have it. I am sorry that I did not buy a long red fuzzy coat although I have no space for it and even on consignment it is pricey. But so warm!

You look awesome! I especially enjoy the skinny, fitted sleeves paired with the oversized body. NK is known for her "sleeping bag" coats, so this is right in line :). I wish my kids would buy me fabulous designer duds!

So glad you have such lovely items to deal with those cold temperatures. It sounds like your dog is not a fan of going out in the cold and I don't blame him.

Ooh what a fun coat - you mentioned that you don't usually layer underneath it, so is it made of natural fibres (enough to keep you warm by itself)?

Some day I'll own some Norma Kamali - once I figure out my style direction better

Z - I always wear this item with some sort of base layer top under it, I think I meant I had never layered the bottom half quite so heavily (boots over leggings over tights).
