Ok, here it is on me. It's a little shorter than the B44 dress, which is ok by me.

You can see why I say that I am much more comfortable with my side view than my front. Both versions of this dress definitely do not de-emphasize the hips!

What do you think?

ETA Please pardon lack of makeup and slightly dazed expression. I just finished a 12-hour drive but couldn't wait to try this on!

I like it a LOT in #2! Definitely not as body con as the B44. Curious what others will say, since the forum liked it on me, but not on Una.

I'm intrigued by the fact that pic 2 seems to minimize the hips, yet pic 3 seems to emphasize the hips... Maybe it is because the Cha Cha Vente is less tight, so it hangs a little straighter? #3 looks more like the B44 to me, with your hands cinching the waist in like that.

Rae, its the way that Janet is standing that is causing the difference in hip curve - arm positions and shadows are doing their tricks.

This dress looks superb, Janet! But the Bailey 44 was KILLER. I still preferred the B 44 on your hot bod.

I also prefer the Bailey 44 on you Janet. I loved the way it hugged your curves, whereas this one seems to hang. What do you think when you compare the two pics?

Interestingly, the Cha Cha dress looked great on Rae. Perhaps because she was in a small? It hugged her curves whereas the medium looked more like this and hung on her.

I suspect that sizing down won't work on you; your shoulders and bust won't fit in a smaller size.

It's really fun to see the same dress, and variations on lots of people!

It's actually hard for me to compare the CCV and B44 dresses. It's been so long since I tried on the B44, and I grabbed such a quick photo of it, the quality of the picture is even worse than these. I really feel like I didn't consider it as strongly as I could (should?) have. Maybe I've just been too influenced by seeing it represented here so well!

I honestly didn't give the B44 dress much of a second thought when I first tried it on because of the hip emphasis. My reaction upon looking in the mirror was, "This doesn't look nearly as bad as i thought it would," because i honestly have never put a horizontal stripe near my hips. But Angie, you are awfully persuasive, and I do trust your eye if you truly believe it's K-worthy on me... I would consider stopping in at Anthro to see if they could order me one from another store, to give it another, more thoughtful shot.

The dress is very much in line with my style and my taste, I just want it to be truly flattering. When I look at my other outfit photos, I almost always see hourglass, and when I look at some of the photos of this dress, I see pear. I'm not sure I'm in love with that.

I like this on you quite a bit, but have to agree with others that it is a bit looser ...perhaps in the Cha Cha Macy's version, you might want to size down?

In the meantime, I have to agree with Angie that the Bailey 44 version is truly spectacular on you - way better than you think. On you, I think the purple works beautifully.

This black/tan looks very good (I'd buy it, just because it's an excellent dress for the price), and I can see it paired with all kinds of things - it'd be a real wardrobe workhorse, imo.

....but the Bailey 44 was smashing on you. Yes, I realize it's about four times the price, but there was just something about that dress. It looks really, really good on you, even though you're not completely comfortable (yet) with the shape.

The black and tan version from Macy's? "So stylish...works with so many different things...very trendy..."

The purple (for you) Bailey 44 version? "Absolute knockout....I think I'm going to faint.."

That's the difference, to me.

I'd have to see both dresses side by side, but your bod looks terrific. Your side view is so slim! No tummy pooch AT ALL. *sigh* You must be the body type Imogen refers to as "eliptical" rather than round. I see hourglass!

To my eye, that longer length and slimmer fit hugs your curves in a more flattering way and you aren't even wearing heels in the photo! I also prefer the purple to the black. One of your cropped leather jackets with a pair of tall heeled boots will look sublime with this dress.

I do not mean to persuade you against your will, Janet. Do leave the B 44 dress if you just aren't sure about the look, or feel self conscious about the hip area! I'm merely sharing what I see so that your judgement is not clouded. Looking back at that thread, I was SOOOOO not the only one who thought that you rocked that frock!

Janet, I signed in from the cabin on my phone to beg you to get the B44 dress if you are thinking of either one. You look smashing in both but the B44 was made for your fab curves!

I'm with the others - I prefer the way that the Bailey 44 dress drapes on you better, but the Cha Cha Vente dress is by no means a BAD dress. It's just that seeing the pictures side by side, I prefer one over the other.
That being said, the B44 dress is NOT cheap - I only bought it because I had a birthday discount to use that month, which helped bring the dress from way-too-expensive to pricey-but-affordable for my budget.
So if the B44 dress is not a reasonable buy for you, this dress would not be a bad substitute.

Janet, if you are not 100% enough about this style to pay the higher price, but still want to try it out, I think you should try out the smaller size in the CCV. I posted a side-by-side of the two of us in my Cha Cha Vente thread, since I can't add pics here... in the smaller size, the fits seem *really* similar. I hope you don't mind me doing that... we have similar enough shapes that the comparison seems apt.

I agree with the others. This dress is not bad, but the other one I liked even better. I think your figure looks great, but I don't like the way this dress flares out below your hips. I think the other one (maybe because of the length?) didn't have that effect.

Is the neckine slightly different on this version?

Its a stunning dress and I dont think I have seen it not work for any of the lovely ladies here who have tried it. Janet I do think the B44 is stunning on you. The fabric looks to be a better quality and its sits beautifully.

Janet, I think the B44 is more flattering on you, and has a better cut overall, but -ry the CCV in a smaller size and see if that works for you, if you have other concerns.
