It's Spring. A time of new beginnings.
The painting, re-carpeting, mulching, decluttering.....it's all behind me now. The lockbox is on the door, and the sign goes in the yard tomorrow.

But here's the kicker.......

We don't know where we're going if this place actually sells.

We know that we'd like more space. 1 bath and no garage is a first world problem, but we do have two 13 year olds, and we both work from home. My Dear DH works 70 hours a week next to the washer and dryer, with exposed studs and insulation, and his bike hanging over his head. My kids have to be quite and unobtrusive during my at home teaching hours, which are afterschool and early evening hours when they should be hanging out with friends and relaxing.

DH has a job that lets us live anywhere, but on a budget. If we upgrade here (far north Chicago suburbs), our property taxes on a very modest home will double our payments. If we moved to, say, Indianpolis, where I would be closer to my aging parents, schools would be excellent for the kids, and I should be able to find new work opportunities. We could afford more house and save more money for the future.

So, I'm researching the market in our current area and in Indianapolis. If our house sells quickly, we will have either option open. If it doesn't sell by July, we will likely choose to stay here, since my DD will enter high school in August.

We are unified in our decisions to proceed with what we call "open hands." We prepare, and we pray for clarity and direction. We may need to make lots of decisions very quickly. I comfort myself by remembering that none of us really knows what will come tomorrow --- although I wouldn't mind at least pretending that I know what's ahead, lol!

Now, I'm off to stage my closet..........
