Celebrating my 5 yr YLF anniversary with Sporty Luxe

I just realized that I am a 5 year YLF veteran! I am so thankful for Angie and this wonderful community. Words can't sufficiently describe my feelings. I have learned so much here and made lasting friendships. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you. And to you, Angie, a special hug. You truly make this world a better place.

I decided to try and put together some sporty luxe looks to celebrate. Do they work? Comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Ooh, great outfits (and great balancing act)! I'm not sure about which pair of sneakers though. My eye is still adjusting to athletic sneakers as fashion.

Thanks Sara, I'm experimenting and my eye is still adjusting too. My first instinct was to wear the chinos with sandals. I had to really go outside my comfort zone to pair them with the sneakers. I'm still not so sure I will be able to wear them this way.

You whacked it out of the ballpark with #2 and #6. Sporty Luxe Fabness. LOVE.

Of the two black sneaker styles - I prefer the Rockports. You might prefer a much lighter sneaker with these outfits though - like silver. Or a truly black top with the black sneaks. Black dress too - just above the knee. Also try the look with black rolled pants or dark jeans. These little bookending tips will help pull together the outfit. You are on the right track though. Nicely done xo

Angie, thanks so much! Glad to hear I'm on the right track. What you said makes perfect sense. The Rockports have been a workhorse for me this past spring. So comfortable, and I have worn them mostly with dark jeans. The black Nikes are my walking sneakers, mostly for gear. Love their cushioning. I have a black dress that hits above the knee...now only to get up the courage to step completely outside my comfort zone.

Those Rockports come in silver...hmmmm. Tempted!

Mary, that hoodie is ancient, but I do love it. The tags are gone from it and I can't even remember where I got it, lol.

Debora, you look sensational! I am especially taken with look #1 -- those sandals are so pretty and unexpected with the mesh hoodie. And the Banana Republic diagonal sleeve top -- is that this year's item? I really like that a lot.

I love the idea of silver sneakers. I think they might be a bit easier to wear as you dip your toes into this trend, although your dark hair does bookend the dark ones, which is another consideration.
