For many provinces in Canada, today is a civic holiday. There are many on the forum from Canada (forgive me if I can't recall all names). I just want to give a special to shout out to you all. Happy British Columbia Day! (Suz) and Happy Natal Day! (L'abeille).

I feel out of touch with my Canadian friends, when i was commuting i used to listen to the CBC on satellite radio all the time, and i felt i was at least sort of keeping up with the issues & holidays...hmmm...does “As it Happens” have a podcast?

I'm always impressed by how stylish our Canadian fabbers are during the cold winters. I would just give up and wear thermals and sweats for months on end. Well done!

I just watched the "Canadian/American" episode of Jim Gaffigan's Netflix series "The Pale Tourist." His comments on American vs. Canadian culture are hilarious!

Oh, and Happy Canada Day (is that what it's called?) !

@Xtabay - July 1st is Canada Day, but the first Monday of August is a Civic Holiday in several provinces, including Ontario. Thanks for the good wishes! It was a beautiful sunny day!

It was Terry Fox Day here in Manitoba yesterday (Civic holiday renamed as such) Local man turned national hero. It was a gorgeous day here - and I SO valued having a rare day off ! Did some balcony gardening, went for a good walk, and read a lot

Thank you! It was raining for most of the day where I live (Ontario). We did manage to get out for a walk. I love the idea of naming the day after Terry Fox. Has anyone been to the Terry Fox Memorial near Thunder Bay? Breathtaking.

Aww -- that is so sweet, NuanceDream!! It was a gorgeous day here and we truly enjoyed it. FAMILY CAME TO VISIT FROM OUT OF PROVINCE!!!!

It's like a miracle. Of course we are taking care. But what a gift.
